Post » Tue Aug 17, 2010 11:34 pm

I have a real simple problem, in theory. I have one realy small mod that just adds a silenced sniper. I have the .esp file in my data folder but it doesnt apear at the launcher. Any Ideas?

Also, if there is a topic on this, I tried searching but the search function svcks.

Try scrolling right... sometimes the launcher arranges them really stangely.

Or, preferably, get Fallout Mod Manager :)

very informative. I have learned new things that I don't even care to list in this post. But um.. are you sure the .esp isn't protected?

haha j/k I wouldn't discuss that.

but um, if you have Windows 7 or maybe even Vista, make sure that the permissions are same throughout, or else you will be working with files in parallel worlds almost. Fallout 3 if Win7, have it on your main hard disk, X:\NewFolderHere

Edit: because I am a nice guy, um.. use custom install option and you can select that new folder and install there.

Any Ideas?

Yes, you're probably using Windows Vista or 7. If so, don't install the game into C:/Program Files, create some other location for it like C:/Games/Fallout. The security system used for the Program File folder can prevent the game from seeing the esp file you added since it's not actually in the game's folder. It's in a virtual folder that Windows creates.
