Ok, this is what happened, I died, the last autosave started to load and the game froze. I shut my xbox off and hit continue at the title screen, game froze again. I shut off the xbox again and went to load a save of the same character, I got a message saying "this save relies on content that is no longer available, continue loading?" I hit yes. I got another message saying the storage device is unavailable and the load has been cancelled. This happens every time I try to load either the autosave or the manual save, effectively destroying the progress I've put into this character. This is the second time this has happened, so that means I have lost two characters to the same bug. I want to know if there is a fix for this bug, and if there is, how to do it.

Your not alone, many people have gotten the corrupted save file bug, there is no fix for it until Bethesda/Obsidian release the next patch. It happened to me once as well, had no choice but to delete all saves and start over.

Same exact thing happened to me. DO NOT RESTART THE GAME!! You will experience the DLC error again once you reach the amount of XP that you had when it happened the first time. I tried loading manual saves and playing again and it gave me the error at level 28 and a half every time.

I don't believe it's an experience issue. I got the same glitch at level 7 during the Fly Me to the Moon quest. Happens when I either A. Pick up the Space Suit or B. Encounter the NPC wearing the Space Suit. Though I don't if that is the cause either. Hard to tell with a game like NV. But I feel like 3 weeks is too long for a patch that allows you to actually play the game without losing your save files is a little ridiculous. Bugs are expected, but man you can barely play this game at all. Sadness Cuz outside of the bugs its a lot of fun.
