1) Given that I found vanilla Morrowind considerably better than its successor, vanilla Oblivion, and have played both a great deal without finding any reason to alter these views, there's no reason to assume the next gamesas game will be automatically better than Oblivion.

2) Skyrim's not here. Why should I read and get excited over PR? It's purpose is to create impressions that lead to an auto-sale in advance.

3) Oblivion seriously tasked the CPU and memory I had when it first came out. I have no plans at this time to upgrade--certainly not for a new game, when there are so many excellent ones to play, not to mention a great many other things to do in the realworld that are still better.

4) I find that Oblivion, by itself, is a seriously flawed game. That's despite all the reviews insisting it's the greatest thing in the universe since the first public library was opened in 1598. Mods make it wonderful, and I doubt Skyrim will be any different. So I will wait to see what Skyrim is like by reading the remarks of players (not reviewers) I trust. And only after hundreds of mods start appearing, will I even consider it.

Which isn't to say your views are wrong--for yourself. They're just not right for me.

Whether or not I buy Skyrim will ultimately depend on if you can choose to abandon quests. I don't reckon you will, but this is an issue that's bugged me all the way back from Morrowind. So yeah I'll definitely be playing Oblivion still, I don't even have all the DLC yet lol.

I think perhaps some of you have modded Oblivion games, while I'm vanillla. I've been at Oblivion (on and off) for 2 1/2 years now. Since it's just the vanillla game, I'm really ready for a change (lots of changes, actually).

I was at work today, watching the Skyrim trailer on You Tube. I kept pausing and rewinding the video, drooling! :drool:

I'm sorry and I know it's your opinion and everything, but that seems to be a weak reason not to buy the game. Wouldn't you just ignore the quests and all, like in Oblivion? There'd be other great features of the game that would surely outweigh that small lack of a feature.

maybe not me..not unless we are having a party...daggerfall is just cool for making a character that can get out of the first dungeon...even if we could do it blindfolded...try it as a wood elf...and morrowind just pissed my friends off when we all played and i won twice ....oblivion...i have played and so have the people i know...and my brother...i guess if we didn't have anything else...we will play forever.....we have friends that have done all this mighty stuff with training and armor and such...and some that are magic users.....and they get so mad to play me or my brother....we are natural born dudes...we have played this game so much we could be naked and win...so yes we need more....you understand...as long as we live you have to come up with something better bethesda...thats just how it is....ask me later if i will ever play skyrim again when you come up with something else...k....your friend greg.....don't get me wrong....i did alot of time with daggerfall and morrowind......i am also looking through the perspective of my company

I doubt I will pick up Skyrim on 11/11, but I will pick it up soon after. I came to both Morrowind and Oblivion late, after all the walkthroughs and wikis were out (and I simply can't help myself . . . if a walkthrough exists, I have to consult it). I want my first experience of Skyrim to be completely blind for a change.

TES never gets old in my eyes to ever stop playing, so yeah I certainly will.

tbh Im more excited about getting a good PC to play a fully modded Morrowind than Skyrim.

EDIT: I think actually, I will play Skyrim after all, regardless. From the trailer and the vids with Todd Howard, it looks awesome.
