Wolf Queen

Okay. The historical books all say no one is sure how Pelagius went crazy, but the last book in the Wolf Queen series says she did it. Am I to take that as history, or story? Anybody?

It is really all up to the reader. From an Imperial History standpoint, Pelagius IV has pretty much reached urban mythic proportions. Like most of the huge multi-novel works in the game, it has embellishment. Whether or not that item actually existed is irrelevant. But it sure is a good way from an author with stakes against Potema to say something like that eh? ;)

Well it's true the books say they are unsure why Pelagius went crazy, did the Wolf Queen really do it? Who knows. It's easier to pin some thing on some one then actually having proof to back up it. Hey for all we know he could of had the same disease King George had or maybe he was just crazy.

They probably did not state the Wolf Queen really did this simply because it's questionable on IF she really did, hence no proof. Maybe the author who wrote the Wolf Queen did not like her and decided to make it up. There are authors like that now a days.

This seems to be a suitable topic for the Lore forum: moved there.

The story has something of EATR (Entertaining And Therefore Right) about it, but Potema was much hated, and her enemies (who were the ones who got to write the books) were not above defaming her with a fanciful charge of witchcraft. And I agree with Vohod: much of Pelagius' madness is as exaggerated as that of George III.

That does not prove at all she killed him. He could have died any number of ways. But the fact is there is no proof on if Pelagas was that crazy or if the Wolf Queen did in fact kill him. Cannot condemn someone for an action with no solided proof and words on a page do not count nor finding bones.

It has been awhile, but as I recall Potema was out of the question when Pelagius died. It was his wife, and thereafter Empress that pretty much hid him in an asylum soon after he took reign, and became the true authority herself. While madness may have been put on the emperor by Potema, it is more like from his equally crazy family and the crazy war that was going on in his youth.

I think when e said kill originally it was a mistype. I don't think he meant she killed him.

This sounds like one of those fairly thought about topics.
