'Wild Card' quests unclear

Post » Fri Aug 27, 2010 7:56 am

This contains spoilers for those who don't yet want to know about the possible 'siding' options before the war at Hoover Dam.

I've killed Mr House and installed Yes Man on his terminal. Yes Man told me about getting to know the tribes. I've visited them all, and decided to befriend the Boomers and ignore the White Glove Society.
However, I started a massive shootout at the Brotherhood base and I don't like the Omertas and the Khans. So I don't want them ignored, I want them taken down. For some reason, though, the only options I have while speaking with Yes Man about the tribes I should get to know, are ignoring them all.
For example, the Brotherhood. The only speech options concerning the BOS I have are "I'm not ready to decide what I want to do with the Brotherhood." and "I know the Brotherhood. I want them left alone." The first option results in nothing, and the second ignores the Brotherhood, even though Yes Man says that might not be such a good idea. I don't want to ignore the Brotherhood, but there's no other option it seems. This goes for all the tribes I don't want to ignore; the BOS, the Khans and the Omertas.
In the "Quests" section on my Pip-Boy it says telling Yes Man to ignore the tribes is optional, but I can't seem to start the next quest without telling him to ignore them all.

So, did I miss something? Is there an option to start the next quest without ignoring all of the tribes?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated (:

Indeed, bit of a letdown. So what did you do? Did you ignore all the tribes and did you actually had any other option than ignoring them all?

If you want them taken out, you need to take them out yourself.

The only time the option to ignore them changes is if you've made friends with them and they agree to help assist against the Legion at Hoover Dam; The Brotherhood, I know, does not give this option. You have to wipe them out or simply ignore them.

The WGS is probably the same way, but some things got fudged when i was doing their mission so I wasn't sure if I could get them to assist. But considering they only care about food, they probably wouldn't help but they are harmless (for the most part) and are probably just meant to be ignored.

The WGS can be 'befriended' (I use the term loosely) you just have to finish the beef quest, the pip-boy description changes to something along the liens of the WGS problem is resolved or something like that

Rather than start a completely new topic I'll just ask here

Who do I have to kill to wipe out the GK, i've killed everyone in the camp and all it says is I can ignore them, any ideas?

i think the first faction (white gloves) had two options (i befriended), but the second (BoS) only had one (ignore). and Yes Mans response was pretty funny lol, he's no tongue in cheek.. havent really "got to know" the other ones yet

but this is pretty frustrating... wheres my casino and 200 armed robot bodyguards???? :P i didnt kill Mr house without reason, the dude was pretty cool! i just got powerhungry lol

Really? Why is the speech option about deciding what to do with the tribes even there if the only option is ignoring them? Sounds like lazy dev work D:
I can live with ignoring the Khans and Omertas, but I was really hoping to have the option to let some of those badass Securitrons roll into the BOS base and kill 'em dead.
Also, is there any way to convince the Omertas to help you in the fight? I did some work for them until they wanted to attack the Strip or something. Didn't really seem to fit into my plan so I didn't deliver the stuff they needed.

Edit: I didn't know you could befriend the WGS. I just talked to the owner and some guy behind a counter and they weren't very friendly, and they didn't gave me a quest or something. But apparently that's enough to 'get to know' the WGS.

Both the leader (Papa Khan) and his right-hand man, who's name escapes me at the moment.

If you go into their great hall, they will be the guy sitting at the middle of the head table and the guy on his right (your left, facing the table).
