Will Oblivion work in Vista and Windows 7?

Post » Fri Aug 27, 2010 11:46 pm

Ok I'm sure this has been answered before but I can;t seem to find it.

Anyway I was wondering how well Oblivion will run in Windows Vista and/or Windows 7 (if at all).

Thanks in advance for any and all help/advice given.

P.S. I've been playing it on xbox for quite a while but i wanna try it for pc.

Yep. I've played Oblivion on both Vista and 7 and it works pretty much exactly the same on both of them, which is to say, perfectly fine.

I ran it fine on my old puter with Vista. I now run it fine on my new puter with 7.

I do run some mods and I follow this advice from the mods forum FAQ for Vista users:
For best results, it is recommended to install Oblivion to a location other than the default C:\Program Files\ folder. Another location such as C:\Oblivion\ or D:\games\Oblivion\ will work better. This will avoid the file permission problems many users have experienced due to the increased security restrictions Vista places on the Program Files folder.

I play it on Vista. I run it in the default location and the only problem I've experienced is not being able to open the console, but I think that's more my Keyboards fault, apostrophe's appear as colons.

Seconded.

Edit: I run it on 64-bit and no problem. Heh, never heard about bits since the 80′s :P
