Brink's art style

Post » Sun Aug 29, 2010 3:36 am

The whites and sky-blues are what hooked me in the beginning. I'm not wild about the character models, but they've grown on me a bit.

However, in some of the videos the colors seemed very dull, and in others quite vivid. That confused me.

But overall I'm a fan. :)

I think it's a nice blend of realism and cartoon, some of the newer games are starting to make me feel uncomfortable with how real people are looking (and having to kill them). But it isn't as cartoonish as say... TF2 which i cant always take seriously (not that the game was meant to be taken seriously)

Personally I love the art style, it is a stroke of genius integrating the hyper realistic looks into a shooter and hopefully it not being as cartoony as tf2 will not scare people off as they make take it seriously enough still (hence the post above me) it will be an incredible sight when I boot it up on my PC ;D

I think if the game centered around robots I would of still bought it based off the incredible gameplay. The art style and story just takes the incredible mechanics of the game and not only makes you care for the world your set in, but it makes extremely interesting. I could easily have fun just walking around the Ark and studying all the beautiful settings, let alone engage in any sort of combat.

Brink looks good. It has kind of a cartoony style, but that comes with the crazy amount of interaction with the environment. CoD never had to worry about people climbing more than 4 feet.

I absolutely love it. I think in one of the trailers the team lead said something about "When you see a screenshot of Brink, you instantly know it is Brink." That pretty much says it all. It is clear and realistic enough to interest me, but so distinctive from everything else.

I wonder if the clothing moves at all when you run around.
Example, you're running, and wearing Anger. Hoodie is flapping around

The idTech 4 Engine doesn't properly support this feature, I believe.
