having problems running Daggerfall in Dosbox

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:11 am

here's my problem as it stands:

I'm having trouble with dosbox myself. I'll type in the "mount c c:\daggerfall" command, than "C:' than "cd dagger~1", but it will give me some kinda error message saying that it can't goto it.

Yeah, okay, managed to figure out what I did wrong and installed daggerfall onto my comp. now when I try to run it it gives me grief for not having the cd in my cd rom, and when I try to run it from dfcd it gives me grief for trying run daggerfall off of the cd rom. can someone help me out here?

Its been years since I ever used DOS, so forgive me if I forgetten how to use most of it. THanks in advance for any help.

Try typing "fall z.cfg" as the last command, instead of "Dagger". Should get it up and running.

I thought that you had to amend z.cfg's "pathcd d:\dagger\arena2" to point to C, but I just checked mine and apparently it's not necessary since I've been playing for weeks without a problem. Interesting..

I thought I would hijack this thread instead of starting a new one. I installed Daggerfall properly (or so I think), but I am having 2 major problems here.

First of all I can not get DosBox to maximize. It will only run on a small window.

Secondly once I get to the start of a new game where it asks me to select my home province, nothing happens. tried mouse click, enter and every other stupid thing I can think of but nothing is working. Any Help?

To go full-screen, hold Alt and press Enter. This should "lock" the mouse to the game; if it doesn't, hold Ctrl and press F10.

I have no problem getting the mouse locked into the window. I just can't get the screen full size. If that is in fact what you were saying then it did not work . . . or maybe I'm an idiot. Any other suggestions?

You would think that I could just hit the maximize button on the top right corner of the window but it is grayed out which leads me to believe that I either missed a step in the install or a game setting.

Ok so I was being an idiot, but now the screen is oversized and has cropped the right side of the screen. So now what do I do. And by the way thank you for your help!!

BTW manually adjusting my monitor only gets me about 80% of the screen centered!!! Cheap monitor =(
