EDIT:
Oki, done ;)

A little bit of news on this mod:
I've created a set of card with toys that only children will trade. It will be implemented with the next release.
To the list of sets I want to create (PL creatures, artefacts, regions, towns, weapons) I've added a Daedrix shrine set where card there will be a card for each Daedra statue.
I'm not planning to work on this mod until I'm done with http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1000912&hl=pegasus+estate tho.

Congratulations on the new v1.1 release Danae!
I just realized I hadn't voted on this yet... You get a ten! :)

However, I wanted to warn you that your PES link is broken.
Trying to download it gives you a "too young for advlts only" warning, which the site gives by defualt if a link is broken.

I'm getting an error on both PES and Rapidshare when I attempt to download the patch.

Rapidshare: "This file has been removed from the server, because the file has not been accessed in a long time."

Yup ! Me too ! Bugs me SOOOO much to see that error message , but I guess with a web site that processes so many uploads we got to be patient . Can you ( Danae that is ) try re-uploading to rapidshare with this new release ? Thanks ! Greg
EDIT : Don't fash yourself , lass ! They have got their act organized ( meaning File Planet ) and the file is available for download now ! Hurrah !

Just a small update for this: 2 new optional patches

-one that seriously reduces the bonuses you get upon receiving the albums.
-the other completely removes the said bonus. All you get is the book with pretty pictures. The guides for sale have been removed too.

Those are patches so you still need either MTC.esp (formerly Clean Morrowind Trading cards.esp, I've renamed it for consistency with the other plugins) or MTC-CoM
I hope the download links have stopped acting out, if not, let me know, I'll upload elsewhere and re-upload on PES.

Hello again,

I'm looking to update MTC with a few new decks.
Here's what I want to do:

Children of Morrowind deck:
Cards from this deck can be gained only by trading with children (those holding a card)
When asking them about 'trading cards' they will either 1/ follow the dialogue as every collector would do 2/ ask for candy / toy / fairytale book in exchange for a CoM card.
I'm not sure what power the completed album should give. I'm leaning towards something funny rather than useful. Suggestions welcome!

Towms and cities deck
The cards from this deck are hidden in the towns they represent. I'd prefer to hide the card outdoors but considering the number of town expensions mods that would be risky, so the cards will be indoors.
The complete album could give a free teleportation power.

Artefacts deck:
I was thinking of giving the card to a new creature/npc in the same place the artefact it represent is.
The completed album could allow you to summon a weaker version of an artefact for a minute or 2.

The cards for 2 of the new decks are done.
I will be tweaking the icons to give them tranparency.

Let me know what you think, deck ideas, power ideas, other ideas, all kinds of ideas, etc ;)

I really like these ideas, in particular the teleportation power as a result of finding all the town cards... would it enable the player to teleport to any of the towns from the cards, or just to a specific (perhaps a slightly more out-of-the-way) place?

YES! It's a dream come true, hehe :celebration:

Glad to see that you are back to work on this, Danae. :D
This is a really great mod, and I'm always happy to see something new for it.

I've always wanted a good "collectables" mod for Morrowind, and this one doesn't disappoint! :)

I think I'll move my Imperial collector and his albums to a hut outside Gnisis and that's where the teleportation spell would take you.
I'm trying to think of a way to display cards so you'd teleport there to 1/ Add your newly acquired cards in the albums 2/ Get hints about card locations 3/ Have a chat with the collector cos he's a pleasant fellow 4/ Admire your collection.
Thanks for the suggestion about the icons ;)

Hi there Greg! Hehe, I'm not quite out of the woods yet, it's a damn good thing I don't know the first thing about java, other wise I'd be modding Minecraft too! Still, I'm mighty proud I got a diamond!
Towns cards are done and hidden, the teleportation script is compiled, all that is left is the cabin and the display.

Always liked this mod. :)

Have you thought of a way of displaying them yet? I haven't actually visited the collector yet so I don't know how the albums work at the moment but IIRC they're books that can be either "empty" or "full"?
If you want a way of displaying each card once you've found it then maybe have a copy of each card in the collector's hut that's Disabled, and when you hand in the card it becomes Enabled, as if you've placed it there?

Thanks for the suggestion about the icons ;)

Heh, no worries, thanks for the mod! And for the coming update ;)

The way the container album works (it's one container only that looks like all the albums together) is like so: once the 10 (or so) specific cards of a deck are inside the container, the corresponding album (the proper book this time) is added into your inventory.
As for displaying the cards, I will probably use a similar script to the one I used in the display room of the Pegasus Estate: if a card is in the container, an unpickable dummy card is enabled in the display case, which is pretty much what you described.
That being said, I have another idea that I'd like to try before. :ninja:
Redoing the close to 100 icons is tedious but Ill get there.

I've made good progress with MTC.

Cards and albums are done for the new decks, as well as some of the scripts.

**Places:
How many cards? 10
Where? In the interiors of the cities they represent
Info? Card collectors will share rumours as to what town in featured in this pack
Power? Upon completion, you get a teleportation spell (providing you have the album in your inventory) to Magnus Stylus' tower where you can store your cards and admire your collection. The tower has a bed you can use and moderate storage. For your other needs, the tower is just outside Gnisis. http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MTCtower.jpg

**Daedric Princes
How many cards? 6
Where? Each card is near one of the statue of the Daedric Lord it represents.
Info? Ask around to know of nearby shrine and the Lord worshipped there.
Power? Upon completion, you get a power called 'Lordly protection' where you conjure a suit of daedric armour for 2 minutes.

**Children of Morrowind
How many cards? 8
Where? Only kids will offer to trade those cards.
Info? None needed, just find a kid holding a card.
Power? Upon completion, you get the key to a toy chest. The chest has everything a kid would want from candy to placeable sandboxes

**Artefacts (weapons)
How many cards? 7
Where? Where the artefacts are found, kill and loot everthing in sight, one creature will have the card.
Info? Ask collector for rumours about the weapons features in this deck.
Power? not sure yet...

**Soul gems
How many cards? 6
Where? Some crystals are enchanted, they may give you a crystalised,a minor soul gem, nothing, or a nasty jolt of magical energy. Those crystals need a day to replenish their energy. If you get a crystalised card, it works the same way as the decks you buy from traders.
Info?: Crystals naturally appear in caves and are also found in Telvanni buildings.
Power?: not sure yet... if I can script it, a power to conjure a random soul gem.

Amazing work!

Is the Children of Morrowind deck optional, because I don't use CoM?

Power?: not sure yet... if I can script it, a power to conjure a random soul gem.

Definitely possible ;)

It is optional, the cards and album will be in game only if you use the MTC-CoM.esp

This is a pretty nifty mod.

Have you considered doing decks for each of the factions? The great houses in particular would have alot of people and places that could be... immortalized in this manner.

Glad you like MTC!
I have considered factions sets, my main problem with npc related decks (at least partly) is that there are so many face replacers and clothing replacers out there that the npc on the card would have little to do with the actual npc in-game.

What I could do however, is a faction set, with a card for each House and guild since most of them have an emblem of some sort.
I have also thought of a Schools of Magic set (alteration, destruction, etc)

I want to finish implementing the new sets described earlier before creating new ones.

So far it's going very well, I've manged to do as planned. The power of the soulgem album is a spell that allows the player to transmute a soul gem card into a soul gem. The artefact st power is (for now at least) a detect power.
I am now working on the dialogues to give hints about the new sets.
Also, I'll change 2 collector npcs, so that the LGNPC patches are not needed anymore, saving up to 2 slots when loading esp.

As ever, feedback very welcome

I'm glad to say I am almost done updating MTC.

In addition to the 4 new decks, the displays for cards and the new icons, Magnus Stylus, the card collector in Gnisis will sort the cards for you and place them in the correct album/container.
Also, upon completion of a set, you get your album, your spell/power, the cards are removed from the container and displayed. The size of the cards is slightly larger so you can actually see the illustrations.

I need to finish the dialogues/quests for hints as to where the new cards can be found and then update the CoM addon.
Expect a release this week end!
