Although we already know they are intelligent and able to talk, I don't want to see only cliché "RRAAAWWRR i spitz fier" dragons indeed. It might be a good plot twist that you'd actually stop killing dragons because they're sensible.

Well, apparently there's one you can summon with a specific dragon shout, so I'd guess he's a pretty cool guy.

Probably yes, as they're traditionally intelligent and quite sophisticated creatures in Fantasy, but I hope not. It would feel too corny.

Not "good" or "evil", but hopefully there are some Dragons who are neutral to the player, and you can chose to either fight or talk to them.

A trapped dragon, like by a rock fall, that you could talk to, finish off or free, who knows what will happen when you free it...

YES! It would be awesome if this happened a couple times and there was a random chance of positive or negative or neutral outcomes. Positive outcomes could be loot or a magical buff (less damage taken), whereas negative outcomes can be disease/poison, or magical debuff (less damage done). Would be interesting- are you such a good person that you'll take the risk, or would you rather be safe and slay the poor creature?

I think the summonable dragon is a pretty cool guy. Eh doznt kill me and doesn't afraid of anything.
Lol.

But I hope all dragons are evil. Then it's easy:
See a dragon (or Argonian), kill it!

I hope there are good and neutral dragons and that we don't have to slaughter them all to collect the words. They are intelligent and I think it would be disappointing if they are all just cliché evil beasts.

It would sure add an interesting plot twist to talk to a dragon gone rogue.

Well, some mosters are friendly and some are not. Perhaps the same thing for dragons? We'll know 11.11.11.

Maybe it could even turn out Shadow of the Colossus style.

And they down 'RAR SPITZ FIRE', that's been confirmed, and you get your own dragon summon! :D

The question is, does the dragon in question really obey you out of benevolence? From reading about the shout, I got the impression this was more along the lines of gaining domination over the dragon, which might mean that it has no choice in the matter, and would still gladly kill you if it were possible to do so.

But as to whether we'll encounter dragons on your side, other than ones summoned by said shout, the answer is we don't know. While they are intelligent, that doesn't mean they'll want to help you, most Dremora in Oblivion attacked you on sight too, even though they were intelligent and could speak, and while there were a number of Sixth House members in Morrowind who could speak to, none of them were actually on your side. It comes down to a question of whether any of them have a reason to want to help you, or at least not want to help Alduin and the rest of their kin, so, will that happen? I don't know, it has a lot to do with how the story unfolds. really. I don't doubt that most dragons we'll encounter will be on our side, but would there be one or two exceptions? The only answer I can give is "maybe".

Well we know there were friendly dragons from Akavir who were allied with the Empire. Whether they still are or if it was all a ruse remains to be seen.

Are you talking about the battles or the twist at the end? Damn two timing spot of light sending you to slay such noble creatures.

Of course it would be totally awesome if the battles turn out somewhat like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2dMnc-B1Xs, of course its not gonna happen but still one can dream right?

An even greater plot twist is to not be able to kill em anymore when you join the Dragon Rights Alliance faction.
