Guns don't shoot w/Large spawns

Post » Sat Sep 11, 2010 12:53 am

When encountering huge hordes of mobs(oh ya massive battles), my guns tends to simply not shoot in response too furious attempts to kill. This is not just a firearm thing, attacking with a melee weapon suffers as well. Has anyone else experienced this and is there any way around it. To reiterate, using increased increased spawns and getting a horde of any type(15+ enemies) will cause my mouse clicks that generate attacks to not register. I can pound it out and eventually get attacks off, but the attack rate suffers if its not fully automatic.

Yeah that's the input lag inherit to the gamebryo engine. Even if your game is not stuttering and your FPS seems fine, if a lot of stuff is going on you will get that.
Reducing the Flip Queue size for ATI cards or the Max Frames to Render Ahead for Nvidia cards should supposedly alleviate this problem. Not something I personally recommend though since it can have negative impact on your FPS and cause issues with other games. But if you're desperate you can give it a shot, on tweakguides.com you can find instructions how to change them.

Yeah, that happens to me, even more after I use the Dynamic Player Scaling plugin included in MMM RC6. :hubbahubba:

Usually, I use V.A.T.S and my personal Robo Army (From Robco Certified Mod, thank you, TalkieToaster  ) as a solution for that.

How about giving up increased increased plugin and setting the spawnrate to slightly increased?

NEVER!

But thanks for the replies pals, I'll probably just find an automatic or something...maaaaaybe maaaaybe i'll reduce the spawns. Or just deal with it until I can get more AP to near constant slow mo mayhem.

It's not an issue for other games with NVidia cards. You can adjust all those settings for individual games without it affecting anything else. That's one of the reasons why I prefer NVidia over ATI, it's much more customizable. Of course that might be possible with ATI now too for all I know, it's been awhile since I used them.

I can't read the first three words of this thread's name without thinking of that Jon Lajoie song. xD

Oh, so that's a Gamebryo problem? And I went as far as to set up another, even more clean boot, which didn't work.
Flip queue size can be easily altered for a single game, though, so I'll definitely try that.
Thanks, Kai Hohiro. ^_^
