About water (FWE -- Primary Needs -- and Broken Steel)

Post » Sat Sep 11, 2010 11:06 am

My first playthroughs were before Broken Steel was launched, and now I'm playing it for the first time (at last! -- and that required a tremendous effort to go back to the main quest, since I still had tons to do on my own in the wastelands).

I couldn't help but notice that, if I drink from a natural source of water (i.e., a river), I don't quench my thirst. Does that have anything to do with Primary Needs (inside FWE) not working with Broken Steel? Like the mod was made before it or something?

The other thing is: I tried to check out the quality of the water from a sink, if irradiated or finally clean, and I thought the only way to "add dirty water" to my inventory was having empty bottles on it while doing so; the case is, I didn't have any empty bottles, but still wasn't able to drink: stop trying after 14 "dirty waters" added. Again, Primary Needs incompatibility (sort of) with Broken Steel?

If so, was that fixed in the latest FWE version?

Sorry if old, and thanks in advance.

With FWE 5.04 atleast drinking from lakes or rivers does work, and you can only fill bottles that you have in your inventory. In earlier Master Release 5 versions you had to select an empty bottle from your inventory first, and then use a water source to fill it. I haven't played older versions than that, so i don't know about those. What version are you using?

FWE primary needs works with all DLCs and their food and drinks.
This would only not work if you have another mod overwriting those things.

Also it does sound like you're running an old version.

But the thing is, I had no empty bottles in my inventory... :|

Yes, v. 4.1.1. But I assure you I don't have any other mod interfering with those mechanics; the only ones I have, apart from FWE of course, are MMM, WMK, Fellout, Enhanced Weather, Realistic Headshots and some clothing mods...
