Tes4Edit Cleaning Mannimarco Revisited

Post » Sun Sep 12, 2010 5:43 am

When trying to clean Mannimarco Revisited with Tes4Edit I get the following error when choosing to Undelete and disable references:

Target is not persistent

The last line in the messages is:

Undeleting: [REFR:0000CC06] (places CollisionBox01 [STAT:000852A4] in GRUP Cell Persistent Children of EchoCave03 "Echo Throneroom" [CELL:00014995])

The Remove identical to master functions processes fine.

So my question is:
Leave the mod unclean
or
Just clean by removing the identical to master
or
save the mod after running undelete and disable references even though it did not finish

Any help would be appreciated.

Try again. TES4EDIt throws these error messages sometimes, but next time you try it doesn't happen.
And make sure you have the fixed version without a playable Mannimarco race or it it will screw up character generation.

The fixed version still has a playable Mannimarco Race, it just adds hair and eye choices.

It could be fixed, and possibly for the better, by making the race unplayable and then adding a quest that makes him playable after the chargen is done. You could also make him unplayable every time you open the race menu, but I don't think that's necessary.

Just tried it myself and I got the "Target is not persistent" when first running Undelete and Disable References, but when trying again it worked.

Well that is not encouraging. If it works for you and not me, I think my best bet is to just skip this mod, I can live without it. Or if I get desperate just use it as is and hope for the best.

Thanks for the feedback.

A failed undelete is generally nothing to worry about. It usually means nothing more than the possibility of crashing at exit. It's less common for it to cause issues while actuallly playing, but still possible.

Usually if you run the process and hit a failure you can save the result up to that point, load it into tes4edit again and do it a second time and it will work.

Thanks Arthmoor, that worked. After saving at point of failure, the next time ran Tes4Edit and udelete references, it found one and finished without error.
