It has to do more with how complex the input is. OMF would be low input even though its a fighter. the thing handles with one hand, and it has like 5 or 6 buttons total. Xcom is all mouse interface and not to complex, though the mechanics may be.

[] however pong has a similiar single input and I would punch my screen through if I sat down for more than 5 seconds playing.

And I am not really hovering on any one game type, or turn-based-strategy for that matter, but they tend to play smoothly even if there are breaks here and there.
Whereas in many games you come back to an angry screen if you decided doing chores was more important than playing.

I own it, and I don't enjoy discovering all my opponents and mapping the whole world in less than an hour.

I can understand where you are coming from. Thing is, Civ Rev is a game to played and finished in a day, that is why you can discover the whole world and opponents in an hour.

I wish we had bigger maps, but I accpet for what the game is. A quick paced game. My son loves playing it multiplayer and likes it a game is finished in a day.
