NCr question

Post » Tue Sep 14, 2010 6:57 am

Now, Obsidian is saying that the NCR are more of the good guys and the Legion is supposed to be more of the bad guys, but apparently we will still see some shades of gray from each faction.

Yes, my thought is that the CL will have a good plan for the future if you take the time to hear them out, and the NCR will have the less gruesome plan of action, but want control, and will do whatever it takes to get it.

I heard there's no black and white, only different shades of Grey. At least, from what I heard, it'll be hard to tell who's the good guy and who's the bad guy.

I'm only going by my own modern perceptions, but generally the guys that crucify their enemies and keep slaves are considered the bad guys.

Yeah, but really, the NCR does that too. Just behind closed doors, and secretly. The CL is just more open to it and lets it be known, they don't have anything to hide. :P

Well, what I don't know can't hurt me...

At this point, i don't find either faction especially interesting... I'll havta get the game to fully decide... But I expect to betray/destroy/ignore both factions as much as I can.

Alot of people consider Vlad the Impaler to be the good guy. He saved Medieval Europe from the Ottoman Empire and alot of people today still love him. :grad:

Same could be said about Joseph Stalin and Ivan the Terrible and many more.

I'm sorry, but I don't buy that.
Stalin?

I mean... you could find supporters for any heinous creature out there (Neo_Nazis anybody) but that doesn't make them good guys...

I'm not here to debate good vs. evil though.

Agreed I am not here to debate Good and Evil but Some nations have ways of glossing over horrible dictators and re writing their own history. Especially when it comes to a former Communist super power.

Not to say they are the only ones, every nation if you look hard enough is guilty of that. History is written by the winners :D.

Well, yeah... the victor always writes the history books... Exactly the reason all our natural history books claim that dinosaurs were wiped out by an ice age, instead of telling the truth about how early humans enslaved them all to build the pyramids.

Though there are shades of grey, NCR are 'good' and Caesar's Legion are 'evil.' (C'mon, they're a slaver army? Whaddidja expect?)

As someone that played the first two original Fallout games, the best way to describe the NCR is that they are like a good version of the Enclave.

They are the largest known faction in the Fallout universe with biggest standing army and civilian population. But unlike the Enclave, the actually stand for the ideals that the United States was originally founded on, such as, freedom, democracy, rule of law, and human rights. On the surface they are the white knights of the wasteland, however, they are not above using shady tactics such as propaganda, esiopoage, and even war to further their cause. Think of it as America in it's early years.
