npc not functining properly

Post » Sat Sep 18, 2010 8:38 pm

so bassically, i have been working on some mods for fallout NV. i have alot done with them, and ive saved placing npc charecters for last, and im working in 1 cell doing all the final touches right now, everything is fine except the following. i place the ncp, feral ghouls, and i set up the patols and whatnot, but when i load the game to test it, they either turn and run the wrong way when trying to attack you and end up at the other end of the cell, or they wont go through the doorways, unless you get really close to them and lure them through even then its only sometimes they follow you through the doorways. at first i thought it was a nav mesh issue, but i re-did the navmesh 3 times, and even tryed things that i didnt think would work such as makeing one large triangle to just cover the whole cell (and doing this surprisingly made the issue alittle better). but i dont know what is causeing this issue, i am fairly new to the geck and modding, but not a compleate noob. if it is an issue with navmash, maybe i need some pointers. but anyways any help, ideas, or input would be greatly appreciated. thanks you

There are annoying bugs in the game which affect navmeshes in *esp* files, which do not affect the same navmeshes in *esm* files. Have you used fnvedit/tesnip to convert your esp to an esm?

ya I just got a problem was yours looked like they were swimming or underground and only half way up out of the ground maybe it was when I loaded a game w/o the mod that was saved on a existing game. So watchout and do not do that.
