This, and note the emphasis. The beth boards are a rather small group of people when you consider how many people have played the series and actually care where it's headed. People usually come to their own conclusion about things and stick with them, surprisingly a lot of people do believe everything they hear on the internet. It is sad, and that is why one of our duties as devoted TES speculators is to right those wrongs, may favourite part of this thread. :wink_smile:

I like speculating as much as the next guy but Martut was not speculating. He said "Also they're making a movie on Oblivion." That isn't speculating, that's saying something as if it is a fact when it obviously isn't. Hence the need for the big, bold red letters. There is a difference between "freaking out" and "stopping the spread of a rumor before it starts." Before you say the big red words weren't necessary, people still post about that April Fools prank from Planet Elder Scrolls, a prank that, while painfully obvious it was fake, people still believe to this day. Hence my worry that people would believe they're actually making an Oblivion movie when it'd be ridiculous to think they are. As for my reasoning for why they aren't making one, no, it isn't because "I don't want them to," it's because the trademarks are from 2004, and because they also have a motion picture trademark for Fallout and Skyrim. They even have a trademark for a TV show for Fallout. They are protecting their assets, nothing more.
