360 controller for Brink on PC?

Post » Mon Sep 20, 2010 8:07 pm

Generally, I prefer PC shooters over console shooters, due to the communities that surround the games, especially on hardcoe shooters such as Brink. Although, at the moment I'm torn whether to get Brink for PC or 360, I feel the game would be better in every aspect on PC, apart from the controls. I just feel that SMART would be a lot more fluid when using a controller.

My question is: Does the PC version of Brink support the use of 360 controllers?

Brink is a Games For Windows title and one of the requirements for the GFW certification is gamepad support.

We actually played the 360 controllers at QuakeCon, though they were setup on PCs. They ran fine, controls were great.

The question is, if those PCs ran the console version, though.

Because they had an adjustable aim-assist in the options which is not very common for PC games (wether they'd be played with gamepad or not).

There are several other features like multiple resolutions and asprect ratios to be a Games for Windows Title -> http://www.microsoft.com/gfwCertification/EN/US/TechnicalRequirements.aspx
The good thing on Brink is, the "Live Online Service" ist not needed to be an GFW :)

all games are built on PC, then the interface is setup to allow console play (really simplified explanation, but anything else would take me too long)

I just hope this has controller support, cause I really would prefer playing that way. I'd preorder it if I knew for sure.

The XBox version is not so different from a PC code.
Most ports are XBox ? PC.

Well, the playstation coding is very different to PC coding.
