Geck Soundtrack MP3s won't work

Post » Mon Sep 20, 2010 5:24 pm

Hello everyone,

I am working on a house mod with a jukebox that play the 25 songs New Vegas soundtrack. My problem is that for example this song: MUSNVAintThatAKickIntheHead use the MUSNVAintThatAKickIntheHead.mp3. This doesn't play in geck preview and doesn't work ingame either.

I have open a fallout 3 mod with a jukebox that works. His jukebox works and not mine. I quickly found out what was the difference between our jukebox. He use MUSLisencedCrazy_mono.wav instead of MUSLisencedCrazy.mp3. I fired up the New Vegas gueck to use the _mono.wav in my mod. I coudn't find any. Proceed to extrack the bsa to see if there was some inside. Nope, nothing, no _mono.wav. Just .ogg file.

Then i decided to fire up FO3 geck to look in his mod for the _mono.wav files and to my big surprise there was no such file in the geck! His mod had only a esp file! So how the hell does that works? His file path points to files that don't exist but yet the files are playing in the geck and in the game.

Can someone help me with this?

Is there in the geck hidden files that we can use and is it possible to change file path outside the geck?

Thank you

This is probably an issue of having to unpack your BSA archive files.

Everything in the default game is all packed up, once unpacked it can be selected and used by modders wanting to re-use in-game textures, icons, models, ect.

I want to use the mono.ogg files in the bsa. How do i change the file path? I also noticed that the geck won't let me add sound files. I click add sound files, i browse to the file, i click it and boom... no file path. I just can't add sound files. What is going on?

Try to convert your audio file to WAV , Mono, 41000Khz. My geck only seems to be able to deal with this format when I add a sound file....
