What are some of those reasons?
I am interested. I havent played a PC game online since OLD OLD OLD Rainbow Six. Never played CS, never played WoW.
I just thought I would have to KEEP upgrading a computer to play a game. The console eliminated that with having games for the platform as is. BUT, it seems that most PC games are good on most newer PCs from the get go.
PC gaming has a lot of hidden benefits to it mainly because it requires this consistent upkeep and upgrading of one's machine. It basically ensures that the community is at the least somewhat mature and considering the price tag involved with computers and their components there is a far less amount of Justin Beavers clogging up the game.
Its a tradeoff you have to come to terms with. A good gaming rig that you build up over the years can cost you maybe $40 bucks a year in the middle of your planned computer life but starting a gaming rig up is incredibly expensive. Being a console gamer for awhile and having tried to make the switch with SC2 let me tell you that it is a much harsher adjustment then most would like to believe.
Some would say that the Xbox's Live sub fee more then equals this out but convenience is something to consider. Also remember that the PC gaming community is respectively much smaller then the console gaming community so the chances of making those friends in real life and then playing with them online are much lower.
