...This game isn't about evil resistance terrorist vs noble security protecters.
Or glorious freedom fighters versus terrible oppressors. As I've said elsewhere, both have been done to death. The fact that Brink doesn't declare who is the "good guy" and who is the "bad guy" really makes both sides more interesting. It's one of my many favorite things about Brink.
But you want a plot, otherwise it seems like a console version of WoW in the future.
I'm not sure how Brink is in any way like WoW, but whatever.
And Brink sounds so awesome that it's totally spoiling us. There's customization, so everyone wants female characters, despite most shooters not having females. There's story, so everyone wants a deep multiplayer story despite pretty much all multiplayer shooters not having a story.
Now, I'm not saying I don't care about story. A decent story would be nice. But in multiplayer a lot of the fun comes from the interactions between the different players, and many people view Brink primarily as a multiplayer shooter. Luckily it sounds like there is a story, so we get the best of both worlds.
Well, I mean it has single-player, so it has to have some sort of "ending"... or an ending that gives a reason for endless battle.
Oh? Is that a rule? Just look at real-world wars. Besides, stories can be told in many different ways. Brink tells its story somewhat differently than other stories, in that it doesn't decide who is good and who is bad, and leaves that judgment to the individual player. As others have said, though, each campaign does have an ending (and even a post-ending, by the sound of it), so I wouldn't worry.
...I never skip cutscenes unless I've seen them before because I like my games to have story as well as gameplay,
so hearing people saying they will skip the cutscenes is a bit weird for me, lol.

Yeah, that's an abomination. Who would skip something they haven't seen before? Especially in an objective-based campaign mode. Sure, the game will tell you what you're supposed to be doing, but without the cutscenes you might not know why. Besides, why play the Campaign mode if you're not going to pay attention to the story?
