Non-specific mod problem

Post » Fri Sep 24, 2010 7:45 pm

Okay, so I have been playing morrowind, oblivion and now fallout with mods for a while now. But apparently not long enough, because even today it catches me off guard.

So today, I was setting up my fallout game again, because yeah, my computer crashed and wouldn't run at all, not the problem.

I am installing mods I and when I go to play everything is running great, I change cells go to open my inventory, my game doesn't crash that would be way to easy. instead textures change and I get the big red explamation mark over almost everything, I no longer can open anything, I cant even hit "esc"

so I close out my game and spent the last 5 hours of my day realizing it has nothing to do with a mod, but that I am using 150 mods, yes that's right I can randomly unselect any three mods, doesn't matter what they do and I will be using 147, and everything works again like a charm.

if I disable one mod any mod I like, only the pipboy looks messed up.

Does anyone know why fallout would screw up by using a certain amount of mods?

didnt submit my load order because its not a specific mod causing the problem, I can post it if anyone would like me to.

I don't know the answer, but I certainly can say I experience the same problem. Only in my case, I only activate broken steel (esm and esp). Some items are not found on the database, and those are drawed with big red exclamation model. What gives?

I was getting this, too. Seemed to happen more when I kept changing my load order in my saves. Adding and removing a bunch of mods constantly.
