[RELz] Feral Ghoul Retexture Mod by Koldorn

Post » Fri Sep 24, 2010 8:51 pm

Description:

Didnt think vault 34 could get any scarier? Think again!

I give you my Feral Ghoul retextures. Changes all Feral Ghouls and Glowing Ones everywhere in the world to the new textures provided. Scary, gruesome, and much more intimidating than the originals.

Creatures changed are feral ghoul, feral ghoul variant and glowing one (only normal map update for glowing one as thats all thats needed here as it glows so much).

Compatibility:

Will work with any mod that doesnt replace the Feral Ghoul textures. If you do download any mod that does replace these textures (like a compilation mod for instance) yet you prefer these

textures you will have to reinstall my mod over the other one.

Download:

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38727

Known Issues:

None unless you scare easily.

Install:

Place the textures folder in your fallout new vegas data directory and overwrite as asked.

Terms of use:

Files are provided as is. No reuploads anywhere.

I never got why the Feral and Lucid Ghoul textures didn't look similar. Lucids look like their skin is flaking off, while Ferals look like it's more or less still all there but their insides have been dessicated.

That would actually be a great mod I'll have to think about doing if I ever get time. Changing them to look similar, hmm... very possible though.

Slightly increased the brightness of one of the pictures as folks were saying that for them it was quite dark. Fixed now.

I remember you from Oblivion with the retextures - caves, ayleid ruins. I use your cave textures in FO3 :hehe:

I downloaded this last night but haven't been anywhere with feral ghouls yet. Ah, Vault 34 I must go there tonight. Should be fun and creepy :)

Are there any other creatures folks would like to see retextured btw? I may have a little time over the holidays to maybe bash something together. I still havent actually finished NV yet, im kind of a wanderer in games just roaming and doing random things so im not sure whats actually left to encounter.

Great retex! As for other re-textures, I think the super mutants could do with something a bit more special. Right now their skin is quite flat-looking and dull, so I reckon they might be a good choice.

Yeah I was wondering about mutants myself too, shame they are not around much in this game as I kinda like them as enemies, and seem a little underutilized. I'll maybe have to have a think of what direction to take them if I do a retex, plus there is the nightkin to consider which would also need doing too.

Anyway Im glad some folks are enjoying the mod.

Wishing you a Merry Xmas and a happy new year! Have a good one.
