(I fired up Oblivion for the first time sometime last week (it's my foray into the world of The Elder Scrolls).)
There were plenty of classes to choose from, and I found my heart steering in the direction of Healer, even though I got excited eyeing the Thief and Mage options (save the best for last approach?).
I'm becoming a little bored already. What can I do to make it fun and exciting? I want to hear a voice say in the back of my head "Yipee! I'm entering Oblivion to play a HEALER!!"
Eh??....
Hi lumiene.
I travel Cyrodiil accompanying Helena Aurelie, a Breton Healer. If you wish to know more about her, there is a link in my sig to her journal.
She's my favourite ever character because of the challenges playing a Healer presents, and more importantly because of the roleplay. So perhaps something else may be a better choice if you're not familiar with Elder Scrolls games. That said, I will thoroughly suggest you give a Healer a try.
Personally, I don't use the stock class, as I like to control my levelling. I chose Restoration, Illusion and Conjuration to use as primary skills. Restoration for obvious reasons, Helena is a Healer. Illusion, so she can remain unseen, calm/command her enemies. Conjuration to summon some backup, and using Restoration and Alteration on a long duration summon of a tank type creature (zombies), you can have a tank to heal, just as I feel a Healer should. If only you could constant effect enchant summons.
She also uses Alchemy, brewing and selling restore health potions (mainly) to alchemists, indirectly healing others (in my roleplay).
A member of the Mages Guild, Helena is enjoying a university education. Attending classes, making friends, creating and subsequently testing new spells. However, she won't ever be Arch-Mage. Although, her hatred of Necromancers might say otherwise.
She has a few friends scattered across Cyrodiil. So she tends to travel quite a bit to visit them. Sometimes stopping to clear Necromancer dungeons. As well as this she absolutely loves shopping. Her wardrobe is ever expanding, even though I always insist she thinks about how little space she has to store stuff, as she has no house yet. Overall though, our all time favourite thing is to crack open a bottle of vintage Tamika's, and share some strawberries and sweetrolls sitting on a hill outside Anvil, watching the sun set into the sea.
I have the most fun roleplaying, I'm unsure if you're the same.
