You can edit your characters between matches. You just can't change body types or characters during a match.

From what I heard, the body type changes cost ability points (so if you're something other than Medium, you have to pay for it with a level). If you have multiple characters with different body types, then you can just swap characters, otherwise you'll have to re-spec your character (which drops you a level each time)

Its kinda funny how facial features and accents are permanent yet something as big as bodytype isnt. Lol
