Ops won't have ammo?

Post » Tue Sep 28, 2010 8:42 am

Actually you or I should take point with our ninja medic behind us.

True good point, i was thinking more of a linear map for my formation, plus with a Light Soldier around you might get special ammo if they have it (AP and INC)

ops are the ones who hack command posts so they can get ammo then but if they are out of ammo they will probably be a light and easily be able to get back to their team fast

I don't think ammo is going to be a problem. You'll be able to do plenty of damage with what you've got.

could always team up with a light soldier and the two of you use suppressors to lower the chance of being found

Running with suppressors and silent step. We think anyone can take a CP. Ops can firewall and engineers can upgrade.

in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSXr_85Ctm8 he paste a clip half a clip on 1 guy with the help of his team. if you are doing by yourself it would take a whole clip

off - topic: I don't know if anyone else noticed, but that video does a great job of showing how well the respawn waves work; he was incapacitated with like 4 seconds left before the wave, chose to wait it out and was healed by a medic shortly afterwards.

Wasn't that the video where people were asking and got specifically told by the devs that it was SMG fire outside optimal range, AND the guy shooting was used to PC controls and playing on console?

Yeah...

Good source, man.

They've confirmed since that you WON'T need a whole clip to kill someone if you use your weapons properly.

A vid I saw showed one mag/per kill, but different guns I guess, and a huge part of Brink is teamwork... a bit curious how they do that with a command system similar to Mass Effect, like, how do you tell an AI in brink to follow you? But back to the point, running out of ammo isn't a problem if you're organized.

Just realized that they mentioned the vid before... I should probably read other comments before I comment...

Practice the art of moving in, mission accomplish, moving out.
That's why OPs have disguise so they can go in, do their thang and go out.
No need for action - specially behind enemy lines!

The only valid post in this whole thread and it got ignored by everyone but me.

Not the ONLY valid point...

But it IS a really good one.

Particularly if you go:

1. Perform mission.
2. Disguise.
3. Return to nearest resupply (Soldier or CP).
4. Return to step 1.

I think you'd rather use the disguise to get towards your objective.

To me it's the only valid point because the Operative is no assault class. It's meant to allow a player to complete objectives without the whole team guarding him.

Shotgun-wielding Mediums and Minigun-wielding Heavies can fill an assault role easily enough.

My point is that when you're in a fight or interacting with an objective, you'll lose your Disguise - if you're operating near enemies, then you'll probably have to Disguise to perform your task, but that's part of the mission, not a separate step.

AFTER you're done, you'll then need ANOTHER Disguise to get back home safely.

But only until they're out of ammo. ;)

Operatives have an ability to hack from a distance, though. This will help them in a lot of circumstances.

When you're done, you were already successful. Can just as well die like a hero. :P

Well said, 20 sec respawn is a small price to pay for taking an enemy's command post.
I plan on playing operative, pretty excited about this class. Ops shouldnt have the same fire power as soldiers. Element of surprise >>> more ammo in my book.

My 2 cents =D

Disguises are only useful if you get seen in the first place.

also it seems like most guns have 4-5 clips of ammo, use it wisely and you should have on problem, also as soon as you shoot(or do almost anything) disguises disappear and the enemy will know where you are so i dont think your gonna have to worry about being stuck behind enemy lines with no ammo constantly

Disguise when retreating lets you take a direct route back to your teammates (or a Command Post) with less worry of being caught out.

Im going to go with the mentality that as an Op if I draw the attention of more guys than I have bullets to kill then Ive done something wrong
We'll see how that flies once I actually get to play haha
But Ace, we should just run together. With two of us Ops itll take 1/2 the time / bullets to kill the enemies
