Disable Gore for NV?

Post » Tue Sep 28, 2010 2:56 pm

The title basically says it all. Can you disable gore? I've tried the bDisableAllGore=1 command in the .ini files. However this does NOT work. Yes I did modify the fallout_default.ini file in the steam folder as well. I even tried a no gore mod but that didn't work either. I basically want to get rid of the gore 1: I'm not a fan of it myself, and 2: I have younger children which I really don't want them to see gore if they were to suddenly run by and look at the computer.

I've also got an 11 year old who loved Fallout 3; which I disabled the gore on, and despite the games unusual nature its fairly mild without the gore. However I got him New Vegas for christmas and I decided to install it early so it would be ready to play on christmas day for him and to tweak the graphics options and disable the gore; since you can't disable the gore I wouldn't feel right letting him play it and blood/gore in games and movies is not approved of in my household (not to mention I don't particularly like playing it with gore on either).

Can anyone help to find a way to disable the gore? Maybe someone knows of another working mod?

It appears the link is broken. Could you provide me with a name so I can search for it?

EDIT: Nevermind, it decided to load. Lets just hope it works. :)

I remember seeing a "Gore Off" option in the Options menu Pre-patches and it would'nt work.

Maybe it was a glitched command?

I never saw any, "No Gore" option. :\

Although it appears that the bDisableAllGore=1 partially works (although it did take amount 20 minutes of gameplay before it did). I decided to play it for a little while to see if it would sort it self out and funnily enough humans and bugs dont explode and there's no blood when you shoot them. However animals, like gecko's and coyote's still explode in Fallout's bloody fashion.

Are there anymore mods at the moment?

I'd be mad at you if you were my Dad. Blowing off someones head is the best part!

What about the language? Skimpy outfits? Violence? I know I'm nitpicking but the game as a whole is unfit for children. I mean, the fact that you're firing weapons at people in the game would be just as harmful to a child as seeing a explosion of blood and gore.

As for simply the gore, I think it would be fairly impossible to eliminate it without changing the effects weapons have drastically.

I am going to move this to the Mods section as that is where you are going to find what you are looking for.

wellllllllllllll...... i never really liked the gore in it much but you can somehow never get the bloody mess perk or go near or in gomorrah but seeing this is on the computer mod it like the link or. cut off NV and FO3 for your kids alltogether theres no way to avoid gomorrah or the gore... sadly enough.

What's the box say??
For Mature only (17+ rating )!
So if you bought it for your kids (under 17)shame on you. There is a lot more than the gore--language, six, hokers, gambling, drugs, violence, booze etc. Cartoonish gore is the least of the advlt themes in this game.
