I'd say keep it as fallout lore.

Why aren't more than two of you speaking up about it then?

30 was being used as an example Aqualamb. I also never said the name should remain the same, I actually prefer Fallout Universe and Fallout History to Fallout Lore.

Starting a new poll at this point doesn't seem to make sense. Even if Gstaff decided to have a runoff poll including a second question about this would probably be silly.

Lore is a horrid name, and should NOT even be an option. Next the people who want to keep lore, will want to see dragons and swords introduced into Fallout....and then where does it stop?

Definition of Lore: Lore, all the facts and traditions about a particular subject that have been accumulated over time through education or experience.

That pretty much sums up the subject matter of this forum, and people know what your talking about when you say "Lore forum."

edit: also, there's already swords in fallout.

Definition of Lore:

Bah. Your definition's written on papyrus. Just face it, it's a word associated with medieval fantasies covered in dust and horse manure.

Yeah, exactly. Bethesda's tramped on Fallout with their dungeon-world school of thought enough already.

I use the word lore when talking about star wars, so I must still disagree with you. Secondly, I don't think having swords is unreasonable, as they are used ceremonially by the U.S army even today, so logic indicates that if you could find the house of a west point grad, you'd be able to find two swords if they weren't looted.

edit: though I must say, I don't get why there's so many chinese swords, but you'd still be able to get swords in D.C.

Star Wars, despite being set in space, uses a lot of medieval fantasy tropes.

true, but my point is that I don't view the term as exclusive to the fantasy genre, and use it in reference to other genre's such as sci-fi.

"Lore" can certainly be used outside of fantasy or historical settings, but I do think it is more closely associated with these genres. More futuristic settings usually use more modern terminology, like variations of "encyclopedia." Most terminology is pretty neutral, and given the options I think it makes sense to use one of these terms here. Fallout Lore works fine, but there's also no pressing reason to keep it. The name was chosen because that's what the Elder Scrolls equivalent is called, simple as that, and there's no need for them to match.

We can always have another poll, between the winner of this poll (seems to be Universe) and "lore", to finally decide whether it should be changed. :)
