Suggestions, Spears, and Graphics

Lots of arguments between people.

The interesting thing about games, more than any other form of media, is that people will enjoy them for different reasons. They may even enjoy the same game for completely different reasons. Some people want more skills than Oblivion had, and are angry that this hasn't happened. Other's don't care, but that's no reason to for the people who think it will be fine to argue that others shouldn't get what would make them enjoy the game more. Same thing goes with for crossbows, better graphics, spears, and etc. Just because you don't care about it doesn't mean you should try to put other people down who do unless it's directly going to impact your own experience, like say dragon mounts might not be good because for some people this will remove the fear of them, seeing them reduced to no more than tameable creatures like horses.

Second thing of course is that many developers actually listen to their fans. The upcoming game Infamous 2 completely redesigned their main character after fans were disappointed. Ten months is plenty of time to add thing or change plans. Hopefully Bethesda is the type of company that listens to it's fans. So go ahead and ask for spear's, alternate fast travel means, and etc. It can help to ask.

Very good point.
Then again thats what I preach for most arguements I hear.
People who want spears just ask for it, not removing swords.
People who don't like fast travel ask for alternatives, not its removal
And that has been a lot ofthe arguing about spellmaking.

Its good to see people here be rational like this.

While there are certain things I would like to see, at the end of the day none of it is going to ruin the game for me. The only big disappointment for me is the graphics, no DX11. Just because I know the game would have looked AMAZING. But like I said, it isn't going to ruin anything, I'm sure it will still look great in DX9!

While I don't think Bethesda will add in any features the community asks for, I do agree with your point. People have the right to ask for things not incorporated or to improve current systems, and criticize and complain about features being cut and removed. And just because they don't go along with mine, yours, or even everyone else's opinion doesn't mean you should put them down for posting it.

Then again, people are allowed to criticize the ideas of others. I just think the argument of "I thought it was useless, so I'm glad it's removed, you should be too." is just tasteless and shouldn't be used in an argument in the first place.

As someone posted earlier, people seem to be criticizing while leaving constructive-ness out of it. And while I think it's wrong to, all of us have been guilty of doing so at some point.

All in all, it's simply human nature that all this stuff is happening. And there truly is no way to stop it.

If spears can't be properly balanced, then it kind of does take something away by throwing them in: balanced combat. I'd love to see spears back, but if it can't be done without resurrecting the problems associated with them in Morrowind, then that's that, so far as I'm concerned.
