This game has been unstable for me right from the start, but I've been able to continue up until now, I'm helping ranger grant with the security arrangments, but as he says "gets some rest" first the screen fades to black, then it tries to fade back in at which point I get CTD, I've tried a number of ways to get around this but all fail, I had the same problem with the doc at jacobs place when getting Rex a new brain, since it was not important to the main quest I ignored it then went back later and it worked, but nothing I do will allow me to continue after the discussion with ranger grant, if anyone else has had this problem and knows a fix, please let me know, thanks in advance.

Memory 4 gig
HD5870 1 gig video memory
(no overclocking)

I found a very rough fix for my problem, perhaps it might be of help to others, it seems that like FO3 it has problems with autosaves, odd that FO3 got fixed and this game still has the issue, anyway I found that waiting in increments of 1 hour until the next day before going to see ranger grant worked, I did try sleeping until the next day but had the same problem when speaking to grant, I hope this helps someone but I more hope someone comes up with a better solution.
