Old Olney

Well, the Wiki speaks of an over-turned truck, belonging to the army, from where the Deathclaws escaped...Now, I get that but, wouldn't the Deathclaws die due to the bombs?

The Wiki-page on Deathclaws says nothing of radiation being used to create them, nor anything about the FEV, just a genetical experiment.

Another question, why do they 'hang' in the town? Any particular reasons, or is it just nice?

Final question, had people been living in the town AFTER the bombs landed? There are signs of 'recent' fortifications around the entrances that look Post-War. People set up, raided by Deathclaws?

Maybe deathclaws are more resilient to radiation? One would expect the creatures that survived the apocolypse to be the more hardy kind

Gotta have a den somewhere...

There is more than likely a Mother Deathclaw in the area. Shame they aren't in game :(

Enclave could've always dropped some deathclaws in on the "survivors" (presumebly[sp?] raiders or slavers) and just left them there for they had no other use for them.

Deathclaws are there before the Enclave come.

My guess is that the deathclaws slaughtered the human population and made their home in the sewer.

Hint:

Explore the town's sewers. Eventually you will come across a room with several dead people and the collapsed entrance of a cavern. This unaccessible cavern was probbaly a Deathclaw lair from which those occupying Old Olney came from.

The deathclaws came to be after the bombs fell due to an Enclave experiment.

The deathclaws were created before the Great War. See:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Deathclaw

What the Enclave experimented on was making them more intelligent.

No the Deathclaws lived in the sewers as the bombs fell and people come, Deathclaws come out and you know what happens.

I agree with raven777. They probobly hang around because stupid people keep visiting the place thinking its a human settlement only to become horribly horribly dead. (I love sending my friends new to fallout there to find dogmeat)
Anyway, The deathclaw sanctuary isnt Way to far away and Im sure that the sewers makes a pretty good cave.

-sorry to get off topic but could somebody also explain to me how (when hiding in a polowski preservation chamber) it could open the door?-
-send that in a pm please
