2 Gig Memory Limit?

Post » Sun Oct 03, 2010 6:55 am

WTF?

I am sure that there are posts already on this issue. I couldn't find any helpful. Why does this limit exist in this day and age? Is there a way around it, to allow your game to use all of its RAM appropriately?

Thanks.

I hate this to. I tried editing the exe file with cff explorer to raise the limit, but they freaking made it that if you edit it, steam refuses to load the game.

Great. I was hoping something like that would work. Steam must think it is a cracked exe if it detects any changes.

I just don't get the reason for such a limitation. It's weird, :brokencomputer:

Yes. If anyone can figure out how to make Steam accept an .EXE thats been made large address aware I'd be extremely grateful. Although I suspect it will come down to modders figuring out how to make the game run without Steam before its possible. They did it with the Games for Windows Live for FO3 so I assume its only a matter of time.

I believe that FOSE for FoNV is already under development.

ah more evidence that absolutely no effort was made to this engine since FO3 despite the fact that 2 generations of hardware have entered the market along with drastically different computer demographics. Just unbelievable unethical to me from a release of this size and marketing.
