Screen Blur/Darkness

Post » Sun Oct 03, 2010 11:05 am

I've been playing New Vegas non-stop for days now and am having an absolute blast, you guys have really outdone yourselves and have built something that, like Vegas, will stand the test of time. This is why this problem I've encountered is so annoying.

Upon exiting the cave near Camp Guardian I got a flare similar to the ones you get while coming off of a drug. I think it happened right as I excited the cave, during the transition from inside to out. I don't know if the effect froze or what but now, everywhere I go, I have a permanent blur/darkness that will not go away. I've tried resting, taking drugs to repeat the effect and verified that my head isn't crippled and I am not suffering from any needs or ailments. Nothing. I don't have a save I can go back to before the event so I'm kinda screwed at the moment. I'd post screenshots but I'm not exactly how to in-game and print screen isn't cooperating... but I think this guy is having the exact same problem and there's a YouTube video: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/falloutnewvegas/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-56863693&pid=959557

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This happened to me because I used the underwater exit. I went back into the cave using the normal top enterance and then immediately left again, and the problem was fixed.

You, sir, just made my day. There's some weird flare that happens as soon as you enter the cave up there. As soon as it passed, my vision was back to normal. Thank you immensely. :D

No problem. I'm sure this is going to hit most people until they fix it.
