Can you download Oblivion directly to CPU

Post » Mon Oct 04, 2010 3:26 pm

My mom wanted to put it on her computer for a vacation she is taking this summer. However we looked at the Oblivion site and were not able to find that option. Does Oblivion not provide that option? If it does where is it?

Thank you in advance.

You don't need to DVD disc if you buy the game from Steam.

I would add that I've been playing the Steam version of Oblivion for several months with about 150+ mods installed and no problems.

You need to adjust the bash_default.ini file path names if you use Wrye Bash, and the 4GB loader has a different option for Steam users, but other than that, no differences between Steam or non-Steam installation of mods.

To play without disc, you'd have to buy the game electronically. The retail (disc) version requires the disc to be in the drive when the application is started, though it is not required to be in the drive at alle times once the game has started.

It is not possible to play the retail version of the game (Oblivion) without the disk, without modifying the Oblivion.exe, which is against the End User License Agreement (EULA).

The act of putting a file directly into one's central processing unit will probably destroy one's computer.
