Mod Ideas, Help Will be Appriciated

Post » Sun Oct 10, 2010 4:14 am

Hi all. My name is Alex, and I have ideas for mods. However, I have no idea how to use the construction set. Any modders interested in creating quest mods involving a couple new creatures might be interested. Let me know if you want to hear my ideas, they are based off H.P. Lovecraft's short stories. (Call of Cthulhu) Email me at monkeys-r-us@comcast.net or just post a reply on this post. Thanks!

There's plenty of tutorials on how to use the construction set and build basic quest mods. Check them out.

I'll check them out. Do they give instructions on making new creatures?

If you do not know how to use the Construction Set, check the "http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Category:Getting_Started" section of the Wiki.
Modders will not want to work with you if you have no knowledge of the software. :)

Start little, do a small house to practice interior design. Put a NPC in it to practice dialogue and NPC creating, make uber weapons to see how item creation work, etc.

Have fun!

I'll try out the wiki to get a basic understanding. What I have in my mind is more complex than a simple quest, more of a general recreation of a short story, some with new creatures and locations. I even thought of a cool boss battle for one of them. :D

Great!
But that's why I recommend you to start small. Get the basics of quest-making first. A basic scripting helps as well. :)
When I started modding, I tried to start big and failed at more than one occasion. :P

In any way, should you not find an answer to your questions, ask it in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1082474-quick-questions-quick-answers-the-21st/. People will gladly help you. ;)

Good luck!

Attention, I do not have the time to learn how to use the constuction set, school is keeping me busy. :( Anyway, I will give the ideas to any modder interested, and credit given to me will not be necesary. Email me at monkeys-r-us@comcast.net if you want the ideas.
