I'm pretty sure everything is mappable. So whatever button you want it to be.

Well, it is mappable, but the button for SMART is also sprint. So my guess is that it is R3.

It's the Left Bumper on the 360 controller so I would assume that the default controls on the PS3 would have it set to L2.

Xbox ps3
LT RT L2 R2
LB RB L1 R1

Left bumber is equilivent to L1 so L1 is default if info is clear.

 You obviously don't own a 360, nor does it appear that you have played an FPS on 360. They always reverse them. Think about it, what is shoot in most FPS' on 360? The right trigger. Now what is shoot in most FPS' on the PS3? R1. The SMART button, as I already stated, going by what the 360 default layout is, on the PS3 will be L2.

Not necessarily. In Xbox shooters, LT is usually to aim and RT to fire. On PS3, it's usually L1 to aim and R1 to fire instead of L2 and R2. Only certain games use L2 and R2 to aim and fire such as Borderlands

No problemo :foodndrink:

I wouldn't go as far to say 360's svck, but the only reason I own one is for two games: the original Mass Effect, and the Gears of War series. :P

What about Xbox games coming to PS3 through Steam???

From what I've heard the controls are fully customizable, so you shouldn't have to worry. Also, everything you can do through the SMART button can be done manually I'm pretty sure.

From what I've played cross-platform on XBox 360 and PS3, the majority invert the bumper/trigger controls, but there are still plenty that don't.

You must not know Microsoft very well do you?
They would NEVER put a console specific title published or developed
by a core studio be put any where near an "open" platform service.

Also I own a Wii, PS3, and 360 just to clear that up.

As well, I prefer the 360 over PS3 for a few reasons
1 The adjacent thumb sticks feel more natural
2 Xbox 360 offers a better (Although charged) online experience.
3 The console is MUCH more centralized as compared to the PS3 when it comes to online purchases
(Xbox has one market as opposed to PS3's steam market, PSN market, and many in game markets).

I am well aware that this is not a console war thread but, I read this and felt compelled to say something.

I WILL also be buying Brink on PS3 and Xbox 360.

This is all not to say that PS3 doesn't have its pros
(such as a more global development scale, MUCH better imports, classic PS1 ad PS2 games)

1. Personal preference, I can respect that. I disagree, and find the PS2 and PS3 controllers fit my hands more naturally than the XBox and 360 controllers do.
2. Not in my experience. I have an XBox 360 player living nearby, on the same ISP as I am, but with a better connection (Her console's wired to the router, I'm wireless, her download speed is more than double mine, and ping is slightly lower), but I consistently get better performance in-game on my PS3 than she does on her 360.
3. Any game I've played on PS3 with an in-game store, it links directly to the PS Store anyway, so it may as well be centralised in that sense. As for the Steam Store, I don't see that on my PS3, so it's probably just not available here.

Basically, all your reasons for your preference are good, based on your personal experience, but I'm happy that a PS3 is a better fit for me. (I'm a good Sony really devoted fan - I admit the competition has merit too)

All you needed to say was what I left in quotes above. I'm not going to respond to the rest of your post because it was completely unwarranted, nor do I care whether you like your Xbox over your PS3 because that is merely your own opinion.

I know Microsoft very well, I've had a 360 since they first launched, I asked because I didn't believe what he was saying was true.

Not adding to the flaming fires but I wanted to correct this misconception. Steam is coming to PS3, but will currently be only on Portal 2. You have access to all of Steam's features but you cannot buy games on the store unless you buy (and play them) on PC. Furthermore, Steam does not sell any GoW games.
