Uh, why can't I play AFTER the ending like you could in Fallout3? I even waited through the credits since it kept making me restart from my last save, which is at the Dam.

They made it end. They announced that this was going to happen.

You can't play past the ending. Remember originally in FO3 you could not play past the ending. The Broken Steel DLC made it so you could. I'm hoping at some point they release a DLC that allows you to play past the ending of this game as well. *crosses fingers*

what's the point? that's freaking stupid... you should be able to play afterwards, otherwise what's the point of ruling new vegas if you didn't side with a faction? What's the point of bringing the NCR or Legion to power, if you can't experience they're rulership for yourself? Please, for the love of god, have another add-on like broken steel!!! I wanna play after the main story is over... there's still so much to do, and with DLC you could even change the wastes to reflect your decisions!

What the hell is the point of playing the story mode then if it stops you from playing once you beat it. Dumbest idea ever.

Yeah, I must have had the FO3 DLC before I beat the story, I guess. Fack, Fack, Fack.
