playable super mutan (or other) race?

some1 in OB (im embrassed i forgot) has made goblins playable and i think it was a proof of concept to show other races can be too. I'd like to try playing as a super mutant, is it unreasonable to hope for anytime soon?

That would be me, and it was dependent on the fact you could set skeletons per NPC in Oblivion. Fallout... not so much.
I might be able to port across Skeletal Variation, but the last time I tried messing with skeletons Fallout didn't like it- it doesn't have quite as much tolerance for horrible skeletal mutilation as Oblivion does.

Do you think it was intentionally made that way by Bethesda, or do you suspect it's a different reason?

The skeleton-per-NPC thing was just needed for the extra tail bones for beast races so it looks like they decided to cut out unnecessary loading from forms for optimisation's sake. The Skeleton field still exists on the NPC form, but the game instead uses the skeleton gamesetting like the PC in Oblivion does.

Someone made a super mutant suit that you could bind to a certain race with scripting. Wouldnt be as good as anything toaster does with skeletons though.

with the many mods of yours that i have talkie, i dont know how i could forget you made that one too. pity about the skeleton thing. the goblin race in OB was pretty fun and the super mutant armor really doesnt cut it.
