Looking for...

Hello everyone,

Ive come to the conclusion that my plans for the mod i really want to make for oblivion is too much for one lonely inexperienced modding noob to handle. I dont know if im allowed to ask directly to team up like this but thats what ive decided to do. is there anyone on the board who is an experienced and talented modder who has the time and patience and willingness to work with me more direclty?

i am about to have xmas break from my college classes then its back into the next semester untill summer time. but whenever im not working on school related projects and family business i could be doing some stuff for the mods. i cant promise i will work quickly because of these things in my life that demand my attention first but i can say that when i work on them i will do my best. i just need more in depth guidance and expertise on these complicated plans. its just too overwhelming to try to get it all done alone. of course anyone who helps will be listed in the credits of the readme page. everyone will get equal recognition, and even then probably more recognition than i will get since i cant seem to do much of anything right here lol.

thankyou very much in advance. if anyone is interested leave me an email message here.

well, originally, i had begun a mod that put a castle wall around all the major city states with gates on the roads so the player could still click the gate and pass to the next area. when clicking the gate, i would have liked the player to be tp'd to the segway worldspace added to make the world seem bigger. ( i didnt feel original oblivion was big enough since i could cross it onhorseback in about 10 minutes). as an example look at the crappy typed chart below lol...

original world space

Chorrol (road from chorrol to IC) -------------------------------- Imperial City --------------------- (road to cheydinhal) ---------------- Cheydinhal

modded world space

Chorrol (road from Chorrol to IC) ------------ (GATE-tp to added world space) -------------(road to other side of added space) ----------- (GATE- tp to original world road to IC) ---------- (road to IC)

i still have the mod where the castle walls surrounding the original citystates of the original oblivion world are at. however, other mods that i was going to combine with it later, such as enlarging the cities (started with bruma) has somehow deleted itself. i cant find it on my pc anymore at all. i dont know what happened i just woke up one day and it was all gone. im really upset and feeling like i literally wasted months of my time. i just dont feel like going through it again.

plus i will admit that being a noob im not even sure if i had done anything correct and was worried about dirty mods. i then decided to keep the original castle wall mod in case i wanted to find a way to still add it in, but to start over with the enlarging of the cities by using another method. i started trying to add new world spaces that are about the size 1024 by 1024 because that is the size the cs wiki said they had to be. i was planning to create a new world space for each city, enlarging each city greatly. then i was going to link these world spaces to more added world spaces that would make up the wilderness between the cities. in essence it would look similar to this.

current mod plan

(Original oblivion world space tamriel - IC)
gateway to new world space IC ------ road from NEW Chorrol ----------------- NEW wilderness space ---------- NEW wilderness space --------------- NEW IC

in essence, this would create an complete alternative oblivion world. any quest mods and so forth would later be added to this world space. the player could play vanilla oblivion seperately or even add other mods to oblivion that shouldnt interfere with this mod so long as my gate placement doesnt interfere.

i find this the most promising so far for what i want to do but the problem is of course it is a very huge project and being a noob i would prolly screw it up or maybe never even finish it alone. not to mention new quest ideas are needed. plus im not good at animations yet or with blender and i wanted to add new wildligfe and monsters. i had wanted to also possibly (with all proper permissions of course) merge some other creators mods with this one. such mods include tamreil ingredients and Martigens monster (MMM). i got an email from the creator of tamriel ingredients saying it was ok, but havnt recieved anything from any others yet. it does concern me if i cant track them down.

anyways, its a tall order, and an ambitious project, but i think the rewards will be worth it in the end. i hope this was enough info rfor you. if you need to know more just ask. if you or anyone else is interested send me an email.
