Lasting arrows (oblivion ini)

Post » Sun Oct 17, 2010 4:55 pm

I'm sure I have seen setting where was time in second for how long it takes arrows to disappear. I just can't find it from ini file. I'm not an archer but it would be interesting if I could shoot the arrow and it stays there. For example if I have been in some cave, I could leave arrow as a marker (now I use torches which get lighted in few days). I know this is not very important feature though.

Sorry my English.

Do you use Wrye Bash? If so, you can set this to whatever you want in the 'Tweak Settings' section of the bashed patch.

If you don't, its probably not worth it to install and learn it just for this feature (but if you're modding regularly, its highly recommended). Just depends on how keen you are.

As far as I'm aware there are no Oblivion.ini settings that can do this.

The setting you are looking for is fArrowAgeMax and is under the Game Settings in the CS and then you'd also need to change the iArrowMaxRefCount setting to allow for more arrows to be left laying around (the default is 15) since after that amount is reached each new one replaces the oldest one.

Problem is making it a long enough time and letting all of them lay around (so your marker wouldn't be replaced) for it to be used as you describe would probably have some other problems (ie. the arrows shot into you would also last that long so you'd be running around with quite a few sticking out of you after a few fights)

Well, it's important to hear that possibility. Thanks.
