If Potema was Resurrected fully.

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:16 am

So what if the necromancers revived Potema fully? obviously it means that the Septim dynasty is revived and she will almost definitively try to claim the throne again. However would The Second War of the Red Diamond begin? Would Titus Mede II managed to defeat Potema? Would the Thalmor benefit in this conflict? And if Potema defeats The Medes, would the Empire prosper under her rule? Would the Empire prosper under future Setpims rule? Would the revived Septims be more popular by the people then the Mede? And would this mean a new era?

I'd assume she would try and userp power from Mede in some way, but remember that she is not a fool. She would probably see and understand the threat of the Thalmor and would aim to lead the empire, her new empire to victory. Another intresting thing i'd like to mention is she must have the dragonblood as a Septim. With all this talk of dragons and shouting would she be tempted to learn...

Potema is dragonborn!

Way to many questions to answer succesfuly. But Potema would have right towards the throne and she could claim it, it's likely that a war would start but if the DB killed Titus Mede II then it is also likely that she gains power faster then her opponents.

With an army of the undead and necromancers following her, I doubt she would be really popular in government circles but like in all situations going back to the past will appeal to people so a great deal would follow her willingly, others would do it because of an ancient oath or believes in tradition. The politicians unhappy with the Mede dynasty would probably also see this as a chance for changing things. I don't think Potema would be their first choice, but going for a third party is even harder then going for one of the two, so some powerful people will join her as well. The Thalmor would likely start another war, can't go around destroying Talos worship with a Septim on the throne, and if the Thalmor wouldn't start a war then she would because Potema doesn't seem like the kind of person that would ever allow her subjects to leave her.

As for the Empire, it all depends on who rules. Tiber created an Empire that then spend 400 years slowly breaking down with the occasional good ruler and then a lot of weak ones. If Tamriel is lucky Potema would be a good ruler, but more likely she won't be, and then it will depend on who will follow her. In the near future however there is a large chance of Skyrim and Hammerfall (well definitely Skyrim) falling back in line with the Empire and that would certainly improve the situation. If Hammerfall joins that will improve things as well, but those are short term gains.

I believe she would DEFINATELY destroy Titus Mede II, however I'm not so sure about the Empire prospering... She was a bit crazyy after all haha. A new era would be likely, she would probably make it a new one to symbolize her ascension to the throne and as a display of power. Not that anyone would have to accept it's a new era...

So she might pretend to be an ally of Titus or whoever replaced him after his assassination but when the Thalmor is defeated, She'' start her rise to power?

Sorry for the questions. I could see her not being a good ruler but probably better than Mede. Though I doubt Hammerfell. (
Atleast the crowns.) would want to rejoin the empire even if it's ruled by a septim.

Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion would get wiped out by her forces. She would eventually attack cryodill after getting enough troops. The thalmor would be really happy since the empire is fighting with a faction thats much more dangerous than the cloaks.

The only way I could see anyone accepting a new era is if she took over all of Tamriel like her ancestor Tiber did. Though she might have a harder time invading Alinor then Tiber did without a giant robot.. Another question. Would she use the Imperial Legion at all or would they be replaced by the Undead?

400 years of being ruled over by a Septim might have softened them up a bit, the war with the dominion seeing the problems the world has had since the fall of the Septims and the problems they faced themselves all might contribute a bit to them being more likely to join the empire again. It's not likely but it's plausible in my opinion.

And if Hammerfall were to join the Empire along with the Nords then the war for White-Gold would be over before it started.

It seems more likely to me that both the legion and the stormcloacks were to join her forces. If Potema comes out and claims the throne and allows Talos worship then the stormcloacks have no reason to go against her. She is a direct heir of the god they are fighting for after all. Imperial troops and Imperial alligned Jarls would be smart to just join her as well. After all, they want to stay with the Empire and according to the law, she is the Empress. It would be a good way for both sides to end the war, unfortunately for them they would be ruled over by a crazy necromancer after that, but hey you can't have it all.

True. But I wonder how would she invade Alinor? The only person that conquered them was Tiber but he had to used a big stompy robot to do so.

Do Redguards hate necromancy the most in Tamriel? That could be the main reason why they would not want to join an empire under her rule.

She probably wouldn't, at least not at first. If I were her I would worry more about the mainland. Get those provinces back in working order, and leave Allinor for a later time. Of course once she's finished with the mainland she is probably going to concentrate on Alinor and it would then all depend on the Psijic order.

Without those guys her fleets could reach the shores of the Isles, and with those guys around she would die before she even got halfway. Assuming they will still defend the isles that is.

I don't think a lot of imperials and stormcloaks would wanna join a huge undead army even if she allows talos worship.

True. Though judging by certain quests in Skyrim, I believe the Psijic's are against the Thalmor and thus most likely won't help them.

Off topic, but aren't you that guy that had all those crazy DLC ideas? You are an infamous legend on these forums, man!

On topic: I wonder how the Thalmor would deal with a Resurrected Potema! That woman was legend! Love her! I wish we didn't have to fight her.

1. Build a fleet
2. Crush the Dominion's naval forces
3. Invade Alinor
4. Profit

Alternately, sneak into Alinor and raise an undead army under the Thalmor's nose.

The Thalmor got a powerful navy, Potema is asking for trouble if she wants to invade Alinor. Plus dawn magic?

Out of curiosity, how do we know this? I've not actually heard much on the Thalmor's navy, other than that they clashed with the Imperial Navy in the Niben River.

True. this would be her big obstacle to the throne. (Personally, despite her being an insane Necromancer, I would be glad that the Old Dynasty is back and when she dies again, her son or daughter would hopefully be a better ruler.)

I know that but Alinor would have faired a better chance at fedning of invaders with those uber wizards. (Though they still have a good chance anyways.)

The Thalmor would love that since her undead forces would cause even more chaos in Skyrim, weakening both the cloaks and imperial legion even more. And it would awesome if we could join her side with a vampire character or a evil character, it'll be like a third choice in the civil war questline.

From what we've seen of the public attitude towards magic & necromancy among Cyrods (kill all necromancers even though licensed necromancy is legal!) Nords (wizards are milk-drinkers!) and redguards (let me give you a long list of all my prejudices against half the schools of magic, especially necromancy!) I really don't think anyone is signing up to serve her willingly. At least not until she's demonstrated what she does to those who don't bow down. If she was resurrected, it'd just be another civil war for mankind to deal with.

I still have this feeling that she's smart enough to see this and appear more normal at first, if only to get the armies behind her. A normal non Necromancing Potema would be a huge help for all that oppose the White-Gold Concordat, Titus Mede II or the civil war in Skyrim and are looking for a peaceful solution.

True. Despite being power hungry she seems to know what she was doing during the war of the Red Diamond. IIRC, Potema used Necromancy because she went insane when her Son Uriel died.
