Potential Civil Wars

Post » Sat Jul 13, 2013 6:02 pm

I was inspired earlier for roleplaying, and does anyone know any towns or groups that are at war nearby or often fight? Other than the ghost town gunfight quest.

I guess you consider the ghouls at the REPCONN facility and Novac a civil war even though Its kinda of like a misunderstanding.

Not sure what you mean by civil war.

I've seen Fiends shooting at NCR patrols and caravans all the time in the area right outside Freeside. Boulder City has a hostage situation between the Great Khans and NCR where you can try to defuse, or pick one side and kill the other. Camp Forlorn Hope is technically under sieged by the Legion (though, the lazy bums over in the Legions would make you do all the work, while choosing the NCR side would let you break out of the siege and take over Nelson with some other troopers).

If you side with the Powder Ganger, then I think the NCR would try to take over the Correctional Facilities with a bunch of troopers, where you would have to help defend it. And if you strengthen the Brotherhood of Steel, then they have active patrols going around overkilling everything that moves with gatling lasers.

That's all I have on top of my head right now.

Oh and... while I'm not trying to say that you probably got shot in the head twice... but you did... and the news is that NCR and the Legion is at war, and they kinda fight each other all the time.

After you finish helping the Powder Gangers there. There is this quest where you spy for the PG to see if the NCR plan to attack the facility and try to stop it before hand but the NCR attacks anyway.

It's not a proper siege. The NCR blows a hole in the fence and troopers start piling through in large numbers.

If you want to play siege, go to Boulder City and pick a side. Or better yet, piss off one of the major faction (NCR or Legion) or both and get them to send assassins at you. They will spawn at a point at a certain time everyday and then run to track you down. You can just wait for them inside some ruined buildings (NOT indoors locations) until they come and try to kill you.

Each faction send four assassins. If you pissed off both then the game might send eight at the same time, where they will start to 4 v 4 v You. Bullets fly, people die, everybody has a laugh, and you get the loot.

Oh and they spawn everyday. This can be a major pain in the [censored] after a while.

Yes, unless you're hostile with the Powder Gangers.

Btw, what exactly are you trying to do?

Then make your own siege! Get assassins to come after you!

I usually like to wait ahead in the game's early morning, go to Samson Rock Crushing Plant and start placing mine around the place, then go to the top of the plant and start scoping out. I usually got some Fiends wander in and I pop them from afar before they could waste my mines, but the big game (Legion Assassins) charge in loudly with guns blazing. When they're finished, then I make some last minute preparation before welcoming the NCR Ranger hitsquad.

It's fun, but like I said before it gets annoying quick. It's scary knowing that eight nigh-meta super assassins are currently looking for you at any given time. Everyday.

I has a ton of caps so I roll with a fancy AMR with explosive rounds. Pretty overkill, but it was hilarious seeing the Fiends from the distance start freaking out when one of their friends were like BABOOSH and bits of him were everywhere. :D

For an ideal siege, just have a scoped weapon, a backup gun or two (mine's the Hunting Shotgun and Ranger's Sequoia), lots of mines, a companion or two to back you up.

You can get it since the beginning of the game. Kill/Pickpocket Chief Hanlon in Camp Golf (with a silenced sniper rifle if you don't want to piss off the NCR just yet) or do Return to Senders where he kills himself. It should be 75% condition. Make a weapon repair kit or Jury Rigging and fix it up.

Can't take the heat eh?

Then... no. Hitsquads are the best you can get to a repeatable last-stand siege minigame. Just try it out, see how it goes.

That's the two occasions I can think of (if you don't count NCR's Assault on Nelson). But there aren't much flair to it though; just a bunch of simple troopers throwing themselves at your land mines.
