I'm having a great bit of difficulty in the quest "Render Unto Caesar". So Vulpes Inculta told me to go to Cottonwood Cove to get a ride to the camp by a raft. I also recieved the mark of Caesar, which is supposed to let you pass through Legion places un-harmed. However,when I approach cottonwood Cove everyone is hostile. I am not wearing any NCR or rival faction equiptment. I have also read online that a couple other people have experinced this. Does anybody have any suggestion? I haven't really been able to play and enjoy the game because of this.

P.S. I have tried dressing as a Legion member. It works until I get to the camp, where the soldiers will turn hostile and attack.

You don't have Boone with you, do you? He's automatically hostile towards Legion and will make you hostile towards them as well. That was it for me. Of course, I just chose to kill everyone at the legion base, which really wasn't all that difficult as long as you watch for the guards with the power fist things. The storyline still progresses normally.

I don't have any campanions. If I kill everyone at the camp I will be hated by Caesar's faction. I want to side with Caesar's Legion. Do you have any other suggestion? It's so frustrating. I just want to play the game how I want, and I can't

I don't know the specifics of this mission, but maybe you should load up on Stealth Boys?

Yeah at cottonwood cove the leader there keeps giving me the same thing to say and is glitched. Who do I even talk to to get on the raft?

agreed i cant believe the amount of game breaking glitches i have found so far!!! from companion quest to main quest...i cant even finish the first playthrough. I sterted over in hopes a patch will be in place before i get to far again

that's a weird one. i did that quest just fine (ended up betraying caesar though haha) have u tried reloading an earlier save and seeing if it turns out differently?

wait, did you do another quest before going right to the camp? i think that might be what triggers the glitch

I had this problem as well. This is how I fixed it:

Took Boon out of my party.
Didn't wear any NCR or Legion gear.
Went in through the front.

If you approach the area from the side they will attack you. You have to be greeted by the guy on the road leading to the cove, otherwise they will be hostile.
