I don't know if this subject has been brought up before...

I play as a mage and I like to assign "Restore Health Potions" and "Restore Magicka Potions" to hotkeys 1 and 2 respectively.

The problem is when I press 1 to use a potion, the hotkey automatically unassigns itself and I have to go back to the favourites menu and re-assign it every time.

This is very annoying as I would presume it should be possible to spam healing potions to heal yourself during combat, without having to go through the inventory menu constantly.

What's strange about it also, is that I'm pretty sure this started to happen only recently, while at the beginning of my playthrough I was able to press 1 multiple times to heal myself,

Does anybody else have this issue? Is there a workaround to make it work?

Are you sure you aren't running out of said potions?

Otherwise, I'm not sure. I've never had such an issue (besides just running out of potions)

nope, unfortunately.

I have 50+ Healing potions. Everytime I use 1 via hotkey, the hotkey unassigns itself... and I have to reassign it manually.

Try resetting both hotkeys to something else - spells, weapons or apparel. Test the hotkeys to see if the bindings stick. If they do, reassign the potions and see if they work.

I could foresee a problem if you use homemade potions.

Unfortunately I've tried many times reassigning the hotkeys, but to the same effect. Everything else works perfectly. This happens only when consuming potions, whatever hotkey I'm using.

Potions I'm using are all looted/stolen.

It seems like the game is considering each potion like a separate object, and once I consume it with the hotkey, the object is not in the inventory anymore so I have to redo the binding.

But the potions in my inventory are all the same and listed as one item as it should be = Potion of Restore Health (51)

I could spam the potions before, but now I can't anymore!

I take it you're on PC? You could try downloading the unofficial patches, though I don't know if there is anything in them that addresses hotkeys. Or, you could get the More Hotkeys Please mod and assign your potions to an extra hotkey.

Yep I'm on pc. Already have all the unofficial patches... I'll try installing that mod and see if anything changes with a different set of keys, thanks
