I'm having another missing texture or mesh problem. Whenever I load my game while in Solstheim I get an error: "Meshes\b\B_N_Nord_M_hair08.NIF' tex not found '1BG_b_n_Nord_M_Hair02d.bmp"!

And: "Texture Load Error; 1BG_b_n_Nord_M_Hair02d.bmp"

Is this a common problem, like the Darknut weapon texture one I was experiencing earlier?
I checked, and the Vvardenfell Visages download doesn't seem to have the 1BG_b_n_Nord_M_Hair02d.bmp file. I also don't have it in my texture folder. Still, I've never had this problem and I've been to Solstheim. Any idea where you are on Solstheim exactly?

(The ini tweaks are almost ready.)

I had this same problem when I first started using VV. It was in some place in the wilds near Dagon Fel, if I remember correctly. There was a solution posted on the boards a while ago, not sure if its still around but I put it in my notes, so here it is.

To Fix 1BG_b_n_Nord_M_hair02d error w/ V. Visages I:
1. Download "Better Heads 1.1"
2. Find the file "/better_heads11/textures/BH/BH_BG_NO_M_hair02d.dds"
3. Rename this file to "1BG_b_n_Nord_M_hair02d.dds"
4. Cut and paste the renamed file into your "/Morrowind/Data Files/Textures" folder
Hope that helps.

well, I tried unzipping the Vvardenfell visages textures and meshes into their respective folders, and I think that fixed it. (the error message came up as soon as I arrived at Solstheim, and whenever I would load up a save in Solstheim)

I appreciate the help guys!

Hey povuholo, I have some suggestions you might want to check out. First off are two creature addon mods from abot.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=258 adds various under water life to the waters in Morrowind, making them come much more alive. Very nice when used in conjunction with MGE's beautiful water and makes swimming under water fun.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7636&id=2786 another Abot mod that adds a birds to the world of Morrowind. Again, in my opinion this is a required mod for my game and I recommend checking it out if you haven't, it adds a lot to the atmosphere.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5722 is a mod that does what it sounds like, it replaces the default missing mesh error marker with something a little nicer to look at.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5988 replaces Creeper with a unique version. You can choose from a purist version or versions that add more gold.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5706 is a nice compass replacer (replaces the compass arrow)

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8518 is a really nice looking HD retexture of the game menu. It also includes a compass but I don't use it as I don't like it personally.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3978 this is my preferred crosshair replacement mod. You may or may not prefer it but I think it replaces the old crosshair with something much nicer looking that fits better into the game world.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7899 - similar to the Oblivion mod of the same name, this mod adds regional music and greatly enhances the games music system. Includes a number of custom tracks and also the option to use the original game music as well. I love it and can't imagine playing the game without it.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7651 is a great weather enhancing mod that makes it so that there are changing weather patterns in the game. Should be compatible with everything on your list.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6639 makes non-combatant NPC's flee from you when you're in combat.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7238- hit space to de-nock an arrow if you find you've prepared one and you don't need it. Simple but useful.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5768 makes it so that hand to hand combat actually does damage.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5766 - a number of nice tweaks to the game, some of which prevent cheating which could unbalance the game.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6708 - adds four new creatures to the leveled lists,

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6726 adds four more creatures to the leveled lists.

If you haven't tried these mods out I recommend them, most are simple additions to the game that add nice things and feel like they belonged in the first place. I believe they should also all be compatible with the mods in your list (except I think Tweaks 'n' Additions might not be compatible with immersive chargen).

Also, you mentioned Graphic Herbalism, which is an awesome mod. You might want to also include a link to http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7211 which adds Graphic Herbalism support to Tamriel Rebuilt.

Both of these are great. Highly reccommend.

This one might be trouble. Its very MWSE dependant, so it very well might not run with the current MGE XE beta that I believe Povuholo runs

I really prefer Advanced Herbalism to all the Herbalism variants. Gluby's list does a very good job of detailing the differences...those looking at Herbing options should start there.

Comment #1 - I don't see why it wouldn't work since MGE includes MWSE? Can anybody else comment on how well Fliggerty's Almanac mod works with the MGE XE beta? I really haven't sat down to play MW in a while and test the mod to see how well it works, I just planned on using it for my next play through because it sounded neat and Fliggerty makes some great mods.

I personally like Graphic Herbalism because of the graphics part - I haven't seen Gluby's list in a while but does Advanced Herbalism include the graphics component of the mod?

MGE XE only has limited MWSE support as of right now.

As for herbalism graphics, yea AH has the plants disappearing like GH does.

I'm having a problem with Expanded Sounds. Every time I start a new game with it loaded I just hear this wall of sound, kind of like a bunch of the water/wave sounds going at once (the sound is much louder than it should be), so I cant hear anything else. Nice list, although I can only restate my opinion that http://timeslip.users.sourceforge.net/exeopt.html should be included as bugfix as well.
It drastically reduces CTDs. Apply after the Morrowind Code Patch.

Hey povuholo, I have some suggestions you might want to check out. First off are two creature addon mods from abot.

I need to try Water Life (Piratelord's Creatures adds some stuff too though) but I've used Birds, which is pretty good. Only the bats were really annoying, but I think he tweaked those somewhat in the latest version... I should give it another try.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5722 is a mod that does what it sounds like, it replaces the default missing mesh error marker with something a little nicer to look at.
Ah yes, Todd Howard's head. :P

I've never tried this one (Hadn't heard of it, but I also never visit Creeper) but it looks good.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5706 is a nice compass replacer (replaces the compass arrow)
Using this myself too, I forgot about it.

Includes a number of custom tracks and also the option to use the original game music as well. I love it and can't imagine playing the game without it.
I still need to try the latest version, the last one I used had some issues.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7651 is a great weather enhancing mod that makes it so that there are changing weather patterns in the game. Should be compatible with everything on your list.
Tried it, but sometimes the colour of the sky would change a few seconds as I went outside (the mod changing it I guess) and it got a little annoying.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6639 makes non-combatant NPC's flee from you when you're in combat.
I'll check it out.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7238- hit space to de-nock an arrow if you find you've prepared one and you don't need it. Simple but useful.
I requested this mod! I'll add it. :D

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5768 makes it so that hand to hand combat actually does damage.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5766 - a number of nice tweaks to the game, some of which prevent cheating which could unbalance the game.

I've been told that the Morrowind Enhanced mods can lead to savegame corruption, so I'm not using them anymore. They were pretty cool though. Fishing Academy is pretty nice, but it has been a while since I used it.

This one might be trouble. Its very MWSE dependant, so it very well might not run with the current MGE XE beta that I believe Povuholo runs
I'm not using MGE XE anymore, it's not working correctly for me.

I really prefer Advanced Herbalism to all the Herbalism variants. Gluby's list does a very good job of detailing the differences...those looking at Herbing options should start there.
Maybe I'll add it as an alternative.

I'm having a problem with Expanded Sounds. Every time I start a new game with it loaded I just hear this wall of sound, kind of like a bunch of the water/wave sounds going at once (the sound is much louder than it should be), so I cant hear anything else. Anyone else have this issue or have a solution?

This is the one issue I've been getting as well. I believe it's the water sound, which somehow repeats very quickly or something, creating a wall of noise and killing performance. And it only happens on the initial prison boat. I haven't been able to figure out the exact cause, though it is related to Expanded Sounds. Disabling Expanded Sounds fixes it. However, disabling all mods besides Expanded Sounds fixes it too. So there is a mod conflict in there somehow. I'll compare our lists.

EDIT: I've figured it out, with some help from KingPix. It is an issue with running both TLM - Light Sources (Clearer Lighting).esp, and Expanded Sounds.esp. If you load this TLM esp file later than the Expanded Sounds esp the issue won't occur. I'll add a note about it to the list. Good to finally have this annoying thing fixed!

Nice list, although I can only restate my opinion that http://timeslip.users.sourceforge.net/exeopt.html should be included as bugfix as well.

Will do.

Nice list Maramoy, I'll have a look at them soon.

Oh wow I've been linking to an old version of Expanded Sounds, 1.2 instead of 1.3. I wonder if 1.3 even still has that prison boat sound issue. Thanks Mlox.

Edit: As I expected, Expanded Sounds 1.3 does not have the prison boat issue. I've updated the list with the http://z13.invisionfree.com/Pirate_Lords_Mods/index.php?showtopic=35.

Nice list, although I can only restate my opinion that http://timeslip.users.sourceforge.net/exeopt.html should be included as bugfix as well.
It drastically reduces CTDs. Apply after the Morrowind Code Patch.

I'm very leery of the EXE Optimizer. It gets well into its process and starts choking over and over on my system.

And it has about 15 errors in its log when it finiesh.

povuholo, thanks a lot for thoughtfully putting this list together.

I'm about to play Morrowind for the first time since my original playthrough in 2004. The modding community's output is absolutely impressive. But not having followed what's been going on, I felt quite lost with the overwhelming number of mods and tweaks to chose from.

Seems like I'll be having a great time Vvardenfell again. :)

I hope so. I recommend making a Telvanni mage character. You'll never run out of Telvanni related things to do with some of the mods on this list. :D

It's my favourite kind of character. In fact, I'm finally starting a proper new playthrough today. I don't think I've actually played the game properly since last summer, just fooling around with mods and making screenshots!

I plan my next playthrough on being a battle mage :D

Funny you should mention that, because I was already using version 1.3 and still had the issue. The issue also crops up in Vivec, inside of the wasteworks of the various cantons. I will try re-arranging the load order and see if it still does it.

Great guide! I haven't played Morrowind in a very long time and have been following it so I can finally give it the run through it deserves.

I've downloaded the mods in the list and installed them using BAIN installers. I must have made a mistake with the structure of one of them though as I keep getting errors and crashes on the boat. Hopefully I'll narrow down the error and get it sorted quickly so I can enjoy a remodeled Morrowind!

One question. With these mods will MLOX order them properly or will I have to reorder some of these?

Thanks!

Now this is cool, that list actually has a couple things I havent seen before and I am like the guy who posted a few posts earlier, I have been through so many mods that I could probably be locked away for spending so much time on it, hah. Question, no Better Music System listed?(now at 1.8)
