So we all saw the Survivor getting into the PA with his vault suit on, so that got me wondering; will it be possible to get into the PA with any armor on, or we will have to wear something slim like VS just to use it?

I don't see why it would factor in and the game would decide that if you're wearing heavy armor, light armor, or clothes just to use the suit. The stats of what you're wearing will be null until you step out of the PA. It's a big suit anyways. You shouldn't have to decide to go home to change clothes or get naked just to use it.
i dont thank bethesdia well make it where youhave to wear certain armour
that was my guess
keeps the under layer if there is one and just auto unequips the over layer like raider armor or whatever when you step into the pa, then auto re-equips it when you get out of the pa
seeing how this first game beth made were is multiple layers of armour are taken into account buy the game i think game will probably let you use any med /light armour inside PA
from the footage it looks like PA has too take alot of damage to one of the locations on the paper doll before the player can be hurt.(see the microsoft trailer when the deathclaw hits the player)
so i would assume lets say the left arm is breached on your power armour every shot hits their now will start doing damage too your hit points.
Ah, the magical hat of holding. Fits any headshape.
On the subject.
I'm hoping PA is treated as a vehicle of sorts. If you're inside, all the characteristics of the vehicle apply - doesn't matter what you actually wear. Once you get out, you switch back into your "normal" outfit. Might seem a bit stupid at first glance, with armor inside armor, but the main points would be a. PA has it's own stats and b. I won't have to chance my outfit every time I step in/out of the thing - because that would grow weary in a hurry.
I've suggested this my self many times over the last several years.
This would allow for areas that are inaccessible to those clad in PA suits; they'd have to leave them behind. It could allow chased NPCs to retreat down a manhole, into the sewer ~and the PA suit won't fit through the hole. It could allow roof access to those light enough to climb rotted, charred, or even burning stairwells, that could not hold the weight of a PC and a PA suit.
I pretty much expect that the armour you are wearing when using Power Armor will be ignored by the game, althrough that could effect bonus stats.
Exactly why I don't want this (I am hoping for a modder to bring the PA we are used to back -.-) - It's a damned suit (like the one Tony Stark wears as Iron Man!), it's not a mech (at least the lore never said so), sure it has servos that enhance the player (so does the Iron Man suit and that's a rather form fitting armor that you can still enter a building in!) etc. but it's not a vehicle -.-

ps: If the PA is a mech, than it doesn't have the advantages PA is supposed to have: Give a single man extreme protection, while retaining all the mobility a soldier would normally have (hell: it should give you more mobility and make you faster and stronger if anything!) and giving that soldier enough strength to use heavy weapons without being bothered by their weight etc....if it's a mech, what's so cool about it, a tank/IFV could do the job that mech does -.-
Well...they have jetpacks. I'd say that's more mobile than a normal soldier.
Its made to be the interface suit for the 51 series of armor IIRC.
Actually, I was wrong, it was for the 45 series power armor
http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Recon_armor
"The T-45d power armor model is designed for a single operator and is patterned closely after the human silhouette. It consists of three layers. The first is a black body suit worn by the operator for comfort, insulation, and protection from injuries that may be sustained during the armor's operation. The second layer of the armor is part of the power armor proper. These two are commonly referred to as recon armor when worn together. They form a full body suit made of thick, processed fabric with integrated metal plating that serves as a platform for attaching the armor and on-board hardware. The recon armor is, in effect, the underlying chassis of the T-45d power armor model. Its attachment points and power cell plug at the nape of the neck are essential for the operation of the full T-45d power armor, as the third layer consists of the armor, the fusion power cell, as well as the hydraulics and servomotors that allow the operator to carry heavy ordnance into combat and bear the weight of the armor."
I would actually be disappointed if we can wear full T-45 without Recon Armor underneath...but i know bethesda puts lore at a low priority
Considering what we saw in the footage, looks like recon armor won't be a requirement.
that being said they get massive lore points for making PA have its own paper doll hud elements finally becoming something more than just shiny metal hvy armour with few stat tweaks.
I don't believe that Jump-Pack (no real Jet-pack - it does not sustain flight for extended periods of time after all) is standard issue...even if it was, the armor is damned restrictive and it's not what the lore says - sure: It's not like any other armor, but it never said it was too big to fit through doors (the pre-war footage they showed once (I think that was when Fallout was still made by Interplay!) showed soldiers executing civilians (Canadians to be exact) and they were not much taller etc. than normal people (and that's just one example!)
