You need to find another fusion core.

You need to find more fusion cores, you can find one in the sewer that the deathclaw you fought came out of.

make sure whenever you leave your power armor out, you take out the fusion core. NPC's can hop in that badboy and steal it from ya!

Unfortunately, you'll need a new fusion core. Go ahead and leave the armor there. It's not going anywhere.

There's a fusion core underneath Red Rocket (in the cave), but you'll need to fight off a few mole rats to get it. It's near the back, next to the radioactive barrels.

It's worth noting for OP that you can safely leave the armor standing anywhere if there's no power core in it. It will remain there.

Do you know if I can get a settler out of a suit? Found dude gaurding the melon patch in power armor after I thought it had been stolen.

Not trying to hijack this post....BUT...

Is it just me or are Fusion Cores SUPER EASY to find?

I have over 17 and never use my power armour.

Yes, simply quick save before attempting to pickpocket the fusion core, reload until you successfully do so then they'll automatically exit the armor, you can pop the fusion core back in and get back in

I think you can click on him and tell him to get out of the armor. I think you can also command settlers and companions (Minus dogmeat, Codworth and one other) to wear power armor also.

Genius!

Why didn't I think of that?

Probably because I've never once successfully pickpocketed a core from an enemy and gave up trying. :) Thank you SuaveCrouton!

I will try this before pickpocketing and report back. Thank you!

There are a ton of Fusion Cores and Power Armor frames in the game. What surprises me is when you shoot the Fusion Core out of an enemy Power Armor, all the items in the Power Armor Frame are classified as stolen.

Ye, if it gets especially frustrating just use a stealthboy, I've found them to exponentially increase my chances of pickpocketing.

There's a small cave under the Red Rocket right next to Sanctuary (it's mentioned on the terminal), go behind the Red Rocket building and simply look for a cave entrance, inside there'll be some molerats and goodies, a fusion core included.

If you look properly, you should have a dozen or so fusion cores before you're level 10, and if you invested in the Nuclear Physicist perk you can pretty much start using Power Armor permanently from that point on.

17 is nothing. Since I don't use PA, I've ended up with nearly 200 cores, and still got a long way to go map wise this playthrough :P At higher levels, you will find cores in ammo boxes, that comes 4 at a time.

I've been using Power Armor since I was level 6 through the whole game, I'm now at level 50 with all three ranks of the Nuclear Physicist perk and I have 100.

Aye, I can imagine that perk goes a long way, to ensure PA playthrough. Altho, I wish they didn't need'em at all, and at the same time, that PA wasn't handed over so early in the game :)

I don't know how many I have, but over 100. I've got around 60 fully charged ones stored in my workbench. I only keep the partially charged ones on me because I'm trying to burn through all of those ones before using any of the fully charged ones.

They're a little harder to come by early in the game, but you'll start getting more and more of them as you progress. You likely won't be able to use the power armor constantly at first. Personally I rarely use it anyway.

On my current dedicated PA build I was able to start using it permanently since around level 8.

I could use it permanently if I wanted to. I just generally prefer to only use it when I really need it. I don't really like the power armor HUD and although power armor doesn't actually impact sneak ability, I FEEL less sneaky in it. My character is primarily a sniper build, so that's important to me.

I don't see a way to ask this settler to get out of the armor and I've been picking his pockets for 5 minutes with stealth boy, no dice. Continuing.

Got it! 33% chance. Took a while but yay! Thanks again all.

Never leave a fusion core in a parked set of Power Armor.
NPCs, even BoS will try to steal it if there is any fight nearby.

Yes, they're everywhere. Basemants of larger buildings often have one of those generator thingys with an FC in 'em. Merchants sell 'em. Ice a sentry bot to snag two at the same time.

They also turn up as random loot. I found FOUR in a garbage can last night.

If you are walking instead of running when using power armor the cores last forever.

At level 29 I finally started using my power armor because Nick found himself a frame and hasn't been out of it since. In that time I had collected enough pieces to upgrade both sets. But man is it a pain to have to repair them both because I have to take the pieces from nick, step out of my power armor, remove my core, then repair everything, put my core back in and stop into my power armor and then give the pieces back to Nick and tell him to re-equip them. I wish we could just walk up to the power armor station and repair the pieces without taking the frame off.

As a side note, I've noticed that when I am in power armor I can hit things and when I don't have power armor on I am a horrible shot even if the weapon has 100% accuracy rating. Is it because I'm shooting from a "sneak" position that my aim is so horrid or is this the difference between shooting in power armor and not?
