Power armor rarity

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 1:38 pm

Although this would be disheartening for newcomers to fallout games what if like how pictured in the image released of the power armor hanging up in what seemed like the protagonists living space, power armor is a rare item, so rare large amounts of game time would ve put into finding+ creating a full/partial suit. And the player would look at this similarly to the magnum opus in the new mad max game, protecting and customising his power armor

Id prefer it if power armour was Unique. It takes The luster of The lore, if you Can end up with enough power armour to equip a company side unit with your loot

It isn't his living space he's from vault 111.

Customising power armor would be cool.

Like you can make a Tesla/Brotherhood armor with the right ingredients.

Consider we seen there are folks walking around the waste in PA, its clearly not as super rare as that, most likely they will handle it like previous games, allowing you to earn one via quests...or just loot it of a dead guy, but you need PA training to actually use it.

It'd be cool if you could craft and make unique power armor.

Be kinda hard consider we seen there is some faction commanding PA units, combined with Beth core policy in there games of, if ya see it, ya can loot it.

If that power armor is in any way rare. then that power armor hanging up in the garage will go missing as soon as someone turns their back. Especially, when you consider that its owner cannot be bothered to even close the door.

Probably level and "training" related again.... I agree it should be difficult to acquire, and I've a strong suspicion it will be assembled, via 6 separate pieces, which are upgraded via repair/smithing ala Skyrim....

Most of the characters in fallout games have been from a vault, except the courier. Based on the trailer all I know is yes the protagonist looks like the father in the beginning, but that doesn't mean the player starts out from a vault. He could be a prisoner lol. Or picked up the skin tight jumpsuit off some poor feller

Maybe we need to have that Skyrim system where you can't make Dragon bone armor until you have 100 smithing skill.

This could be usefull in F4 where you can't craft a unique piece of armor unless you have 100 repair.

It needs to be very special, and have enough cons weighed against the pros. Like very high maintenance standards, with taxing skill requirements in things like repair or engineering or whatever. Assuming gamesas hasn't done away with skills to placate the brainless hordes.

Definitely keep power armor training that should be a reward for helping out the BOS and power armor should be rare. I liked how rare it was in New Vegas, you didn't just automatically find it and the ones that you did find were under the BOS faction.

I'm not against crafting Power Armor but it shouldn't be easy either.

Or create a new skill tree under the name of crafting.

I personally think different power armor varieties should have different rarities.

I hope power armor if purchased is outrageously priced not in a bad way, but it makes the player work for it soaking up some hours just to get a metal hull of protection against muties, and maybe the power armor will have better stat multipliers, isnt the suit built to withstand radiation, and carry large weaponry with ease?

I don't think they should be ever craftable on any scale. Seriously even making quality screws without highly specialized machinary is nigh impossible. Unless we find their main assembly line ( and assuming they still function and have enough juice to run ) some how figure out how to actually operate them, then maybe...

My idea is that there should be some power armor components that you can find or you will get a quest from the Institute after completing it they will learn you how to make power armor.

There us a theory that the vault dweller has been cyrogenically frozen along with the "family dog" this sparked my interest as this would be one of vault tecs actually good ideas and possibly the protagonist would have skills from the old world

Well I'm certainly not expecting to find some right out the door. That's like mid-late game protection, with a lot of hoops.

Worrying about tiny parts being crafted is rather off, we have no real idea of the technology of the world on certain scales, some factions have built, modified and produced new suits of armor. So machinery/high tech production facilities still exist, or they have learned to develop technology to get around that to produce and repair and make new suits of armor. And if people are making androids and advanced cybernetics like the followers in Vegas, then we really have no grasp of what the old world was capable of, even after 4 games we only have seen a small sliver of the things they have made, both wondrous and deadly.

I dont get power armour.

Accordingly to The lore, you should be a one man armoured vehicule. Impervious to any non 12,7 or other heavy armour piercing round. Preferably something with Tungsten or depleated Uranium.

And yet, you Can kill a Guy in armour with a friggen handgun. That Makes no sense.

Also The armour would be expensive as hell and take a ton of maintanence.

Basically Bethesdas version seems like a cheap immitation.
