X-01 MK ll power armor theory part 2

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 1:46 pm

part 1

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1528592-x-01-mk-ll-power-armor-theory-part-1/

Anyways, power power is just normal armor. If you have power armor training, you just equip it like normal armor and you wear it like normal armor. And then there is fallout 4 power armor. Probably impossible to carry around in your inventory, this armor is slow, big and very extremely resistant, just what fallout needs. It even requires some kind of "core" battery to operate! Its obvious that this new armor is different from fallout 3 power armor.

X-01 MK ll power armor is not enclave power armor, it may be enclave armor but it is definitely not normal enclave power armor. If X-01 MK ll power armor is enclave armor, which everyone says so, then that means new power armor is in development. Sure, sure it could mean the enclave were in Boston but not any more, but if the armor is enclave, it means the enclave is probably in Boston. Also, the enclave must be a large enough faction to develop new power armor so there not going to be small like in NV. The last thing is that when you see this power armor, its in great shape just like it was made months ago.

The point of this theory is if the X-01 MK ll power armor is enclave, this means the enclave had to be alive to make this new armor. Of course there are some holes in this theory like if the power armor was not enclave or the power armor came from some where else, but still we know so little of fallout 4.

Pretty sure this armor is meant to be the exact same as what the Enclave used in the past. I'm just trying to figure out how the armor got to Boston in the first place.

How is it new power armor? Just because it has a different name and looks different? One thing to consider about the advanced power armor (that was the Remnant's power armor in NV) was that it was never actually given an official name unlike what was considered the normal power armor in the original Fallout games that was really called T-51b. However, the power armor worn by the Enclave was simply called advanced power armor, and never given a technical name. What we're seeing in Fallout 4 is likely this set of power armor finally getting a name that fits with every other power armor, like T-45d, T-51b, T-60, etc. They couldn't have just put this particular set of power armor in the game and have it still be called 'advanced power armor', that would look silly amongst the other list of power armors. Thus why it's now called X-01 MKII. The MKII likely telling us it's the advanced power armor MKII variant that was in Fallout 2.

As for it's new appearance, it's likely just updating the appearance of the power armor for the sake of updating, and probably to fit in with the new design of power armor that makes it look like an actual giant battle suit. There are even some slight changes made to the appearance of T-45d and T-51b. Does that make it new power armor as well?

Honestly, this whole situation is simply a result of some things getting retconned. The advanced power armor set is finally getting an official name behind it, and its appearance is getting an update to fit in with the new visuals. As for why it's on the east coast? Who knows, but it was even speculated in the previous thread that it could be a result of retcon as well, in the sense that the armor worn by the Enclave in FO3 was now the advanced power armor, and that the Enclave power armor we saw in FO3 never existed.

Now that that is out of the way, I must point out again the silliness of the line of thinking that this power armor making an appearance automatically means the Enclave likely have a presence as well, when this very same power armor appeared in NV and Enclave never appeared at all in that game, save for some remnants who were no longer associated with the Enclave. Like the Remnant's power armor in NV, the armor appearing in FO4 is likely an old relic of the dead faction as well.

Alot of people are assuming it's a retcon because it made it's way to the east coast when it could have several reasons for being there, brought by the enclave before being retired, brought by the B.O.S. sometime ago or possibly from enclave remnants/deserters who fled east from the ncr. I think it would be odd for beth to jump back like that, but perhaps it is as beth is one of those companies who change designs in their games alot.

The existence of Enclave-esque power armor is not definitive proof that the Enclave has any major presence in Fo4. The existed in Fallout New Vegas, but they were largely accessed by a companion side quest, and they were for the most part a secret cool kids club in a broom closet.

The destruction of Raven Rock and the AFB Mobile Base Crawler left the Enclave in a complete state of disarray, one that I doubt they will recover from. Likely, the most presence we'll have are remnants, similar to those in FNV, merging into society and fading into obscurity. We gotta also remember that the Enclave were using extremely advanced technology, so the BoS would have good reason to salvage this technology and distribute it amongst their Knights and Paladins. So, that might explain why X-01 Mk II exists. Or, Bethesda just renamed the Enclave Power Armor mk-II into X-01 MkII.

What Motsie said. Also the people of the Wasteland are scavengers. They wait till the Deathclaw turns on the guy weaing Enclave Power Armor kills him, then leaves . Then the scavenger comes out of hiding, rips the armor off the dude and trades it for lots of jet at the local settlement who then in turn trades it for something else.

In otherwords, things move around. As Motsie said, after Raven Rock and the Mobile Base Crawler was destroyed you had 2 sites that could be picked over for tech. I dont for a minute believe that the BOS got all of it, but Power Armor is impossible to use without training so the others picking it up would move it on for stuff they actually CAN use like Whisky and Stimpacks :)

I have always thought that Enclave Armor from F2 was Advanced Power Armor Mark I, and the one Form Fallout 3 is Advanced Power Armor Mark II, the same worn by the Enclave Control Company back in the F2 days.

If the game is set after F3, then Enclave should have very minor or none presence, IF the game is set in 2275 as speculated by some... then it's totally different story. BTW I wonder if the roaming Eyebots will have Eden's broadcast?

How his this topic reached a second thread.

For one, regarding it's designation as Mk II. Look at all of the other armours in the game and the footage, you can upgrade a T-51b to a T-51f and the same with APA - you can make it a X-01 Mk I to Mk VI.

Quite possibilyu it's lack of Enclave decals and designation X, as in experimental, may indicate it comes from a pre-war laboratory or that Bethesda just renamed it to follow the same naming system as the other Power Armour models.

Cant be pre-war, the Enclave created the Advanced Power Armor design post-war completely from scratch. The armor is Enclave because it was made by and for Enclave personnel. The only way to obtain it is from the Enclave (via being a member or taking it from a member). So either the Enclave is in Boston (with old tech), ex-Enclave are in Boston and are willing to part with their gear, or a cache of Enclave gear is in Boston for whatever reason

There was a set of Mk II in F2 in a locker on the Oil Rig i believe and it looked the same as the Mk I, Beth however just called the F3 Armor Mk II as if they merely redesigned the armor's aesthetics but none of it's practical elements

Where is it ever stated that APA was developed after the war? The Bible? You think Bethesda gives a damn about what's in that?

It very likely will be retrieved from the body of an Enclave soldier or through some other method, however that and it being an entirely experimental pre-war suit are the two most likely options in my opinion for the source of the armour. Given the wear on the armour one can assume it's old, then again it lacks any Enclave decals (though then again so did APA in F3).

Most likely from an Enclave soldier.

It is stated in F2. There is literally a whole big thing about the Enclave being the only group to be successful in creating new PA after the bombs fell. Also it is a huge propaganda thing where the Prez of the Enclave covered up all the failings and deaths that occurred during the long process of making that new PA set. This is Fallout Fact: Advanced PA is Post War

Actually no that thing about the deaths being covered up is just from the Bible as is the 2198 development date of APA. No where is that said in-game, you can literally count the number of Enclave people you can have a conversation with on one hand and read the handful of transcripts of their conversations and the few text logs in the game and none of them say that.

Still doesnt dismiss that we know that APA is post-war made exclusively by the Enclave. T-51 was the last to be made pre-war and as far as i can tell the US Army didnt have any reason to attempt to improve that mark since it was winning them the war. Post-war however there are new threats and a certain organization that uses a lot of T-51 which the Enclave must be superior than in order to survive...

No it doesn't, we don't know that.

And T51b was the last model to be mass developed but it doesn't mean that others weren't in development was it? Hell Van Buren, the same guys who wrote the Bible and the information you are quoting, were going to have a pre-war Enclave Power Armour project.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Athena

And they were the ones who said that APA was developed in 2198. We don't know when APA was developed, presumably after the war, almost certainly manufactured in-bulk after the war. But do we know that no? That and the fact that it's designated "X-01" suggests to me that it could go either way.

X means Mark, Mark I...do you really not get this? The F2 official guide says it is post-war and it is canon. We DO know it is Post-War, you just argue to be a thorn in the very concept of logic, not because you have a point or anything to back it up. At this point i have at least 3 sources that back up the FACT we already understand in Fallout Lore, you have none. i have no patience for this lunacy today so im not gonna bother. I might as well just consider Deathclaws to be from the age of Dinosaurs, Protectrons to be Aliens in disguise, and Laser Weapons to actually fire fairy dust. We know this is all untrue but if we dared to go by the lore you would throw a fit im sure

What so the power armour is called Mark-01 Mk II? Yeah sure mate.

And no, you have things from the Bible which Bethesda doesn't care about. The only person being needless, and with a history, of abrasiveness is you. I already said it most likely will be armour acquired from an Enclave soldier, you're the one who can't let any slightest thing go.

EDIT: Also the wikia doesn't quote the guide as saying that, it quotes it as saying it's composed of light-weight metal alloys. Everything related to the development of the armour is from the Bible whicj if you want to cling to is fine, but Bethesda doesn't give a [censored] about it. Everything you are quoting is from this timeline:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Bible_0

EDIT2: You really are quite impertinent. Possibly the most frivolous use of the word "Lunacy" I've ever encountered.

The lack of Enclave insygnia on the X-01 armor, is caused imo by the fact that we can paint the armor. Our armor in the workshop doesn't have any paintjob, it's that simple.

How about a comeback to the fact that I proved your "X meaning Mark" (and then your little smug diatribe after it) being completely wrong. Mk-01 MkII power armour? Of-course it is mate. Typical by the pound "shut up and go away" response of the man who can't argue back. It's not illogical why the X in X-01 MkII power armour stand for mark?

You seemed so confident before? X-01 Mk II means Mark-01 MkII, please explain the logic of this to me.

No you don't, but your unwilling to provide your sources so I'll do the work for you:

All Enclave characters in Fallout 2.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/QCCURLNG.MSG- Lt. Col Dr. Charles Curling, no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Qhprzrch.msg- President Richardson, no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/QCBIRD.MSG- Vice President Bird, no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ccdrill.msg- Sergeant Dornan- refers to "MkII Powered Combat Armour" by name but that's it.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/QCGRANIT.MSG- Sergeant Granite - no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/CCMANDR.MSG- Navarro Base Commander - no references to power armour.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ccqmstr.msg- Navarro quarter-master - no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/QCFRANK.MSG- Frank Horrigan - no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ccmedgrd.msg- "Snookie" (a Navarro guard) - no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Cccook.msg- "Cookie" (the blind Navarro chef) - mentions that he can't smell you in power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ccquincy.msg- Quincy (Navarro mechanic) - no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ccraul.msg- Raul (Vertibird mechanic) - no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Cckevin.msg- Kevin (Navarro mechanic) - no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Gcpacoff.msg- Enclave Comms Officer - no references to power armour

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/CCGGUARD.MSG- Navarro gate guard - no refences to power armour

It is composed of lightweight metal alloys, reinforced with ceramic castings at key stress points. The motion-assist servo-motors used in the armor appear to be high quality models as well, giving the wearer a +4 Strength bonus. The suit has an auto-gyro system to keep it upright and the knees can be locked in position, to prevent the wearer from falling over, if, for some reason, he loses consciousness on duty (e.g. takes a nap)

This is from the Strategy Guide Pg 215

This http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Power_armor appears to be composed entirely of lightweight ceramic composites, rather than the usual combination of metal, and ceramic plates. It seems as though it should give even more protection than the standard, advanced power armor.

In-game description

And from the Bible:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline#2198 http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Enclave works on various new technologies, including http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Power_armor_(Fallout) variations. None of these are much of an improvement over the conventional old school Power Armor, and some are actually worse. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline#2215 Under Presidential Order, Enclave scientists begin to work on an upgraded version of Power Armor. Many prototypes are developed and tested. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline#2220 October Enclave scientists develop a reliable version of the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Advanced_power_armor_(Fallout_2). The prototype results (and accidents... and explosions... and deaths) are classified by order of the President Richardson for the sake of morale.

And as we know, the Bible isn't going to stop Bethesda doing what they want because it's not really canon.
