I'm not sure your thread is particularly relevant. These two threads are already discussing PA thoughts and concerns.
Yeahhhhhhh you're probably gonna be disappointed lol it's like a lot of us thought. I won't ruin it for you with spoilers but be prepared to figure out a non PA build
PA are suppose to be like Fallout 4 trying to make, a powerful boost to you overall resistance and dmg, the PA on Fallout 3 and NV was so poorly implement that was just for the look there was better armor out there u can use.
This new one is a more powerful version but for the balance of the game-play it run on power, there are perks and probably upgrade u can use to extend this power.
PA on the lore of the game was never mend to be something as easy to use as the Fallout 3 and NV make it look, not only u need special training to use it, the PA lore is that is was made to become a personal tank since tank consume to much fuel on the field.
If u want to play heavy wear u still can since there are heavy metal armor u can get, only differences now u can use that armor and the PA at the same time.
Is to early on game but probably there going to be way to call the PA to u when u need it.
Yeah, it seems to be gimmick scripted event item like from CoD or other action games.
Oh well, I hope Heavy-Weapons aren't up next for this treatment in FO5.
The initial fight we end up seeing may be something along those lines but PA in general isn't a "gimmick scripted event"
The CoD reference just makes you sound less intelligent
I can't speak to your concerns about the gameplay mechanics, but "power armor as vehicle" anology is well supported in the games' fiction. It was designed to replace mechanized infantry (soldiers in personnel carriers) and allow a single operator to engage heavy targets like tanks. We also know that it suffered from some shortcomings that affect contemporary vehicles, like reduced effectiveness in the wetlands of China. The E3 footage seems to suggest that we will find power armor pieces during play and that we can customize the armor.
They said we'd be able to custamize it, I wonder what kind of customizations. Like guns built in to the arm? Different fittings that can give you special abilities?
